Today the flag of the Inter-Parliamentary Union is flying in New Palace Yard to mark the International Day of Parliamentarism. This day is to reflect on the role and progress of parliaments across the world in upholding democracy.

Today the Armed Forces Day flag is flying in New Palace Yard. At the start of the week, Armed Forces personnel, Members and colleagues came together at a flag raising ceremony to mark Armed Forces Week, recognising the commitments and contributions of people who serve.

The Armed Forces regulars, veterans and reservist community in Parliament is strong and this week I was proud to launch the Armed Forces Parliamentary Network - showcasing the wide variety of roles they undertake at Parliament.
