Corrieshalloch Suspension Bridge is 140! Benjamin Baker's design for his boss is celebrated on Landward in 5 minutes and in a walk near Ullapool on Sunday.
Also the bridge will feature on Landward tonight on BBC Scotland at 8.30pm. It will also be repeated on Sunday 12th on BBC 2 at 9.30 and BBC Scotland at 11.45. It will also be available on iPlayer.

Date for diaries! SIHS meets on 1 June at @Scotmaritime in Irvine. We will celebrate 40 years since our first meeting, which was in Ayrshire, 1984, before the Linthouse engine shop was even built here!

quick visit to one of my fave @welovehistory sites at Stanley Mills today - these are the wheel pits that housed some of the largest waterwheels in Scotland. The shroud marks are visible on the ashlar where the wheel has been off the true and gouging the wall !

This is a great architectural loss to Glasgow. I have a particular connection to this building, as just behind it is the old factory where @Franz_Ferdinand put on our first events in an old factory we called The Chateau. We used to enter it via this building sometimes.
India Buildings on Bridge Street has had a roof collapse, destabilising the façade. Neighbouring residents have been evacuated. Demolition is sadly inevitable now. Just been on site. I'm working with Council officers to try to save the carved pediment and chimneys from the roof.
