Straight people aren't punched in the face for holding hands with their life partner, nor are the executed in other countries simply for being straight. Please educate yourself on the matter before commenting such nonsense. ^Ste

, we’re reaffirming our commitment to ensuring that Scotland’s Railway is for everyone. Whether you’re a passenger or a member of staff, you can be assured that we will not tolerate intolerance.
We’ve sadly been advised by the
@BTP
that, in addition to the driver and a passenger, one of the fatalities in the Stonehaven derailment was our conductor. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family, friends, and colleagues of those who have lost loved ones.
Thank you for your messages today. We really appreciate your kindness on what's been a tragic day on Scotland's Railway.
-ScotRail Social Media Team. 🖤
It's one year to the day since this now infamous conversation, and we'd like to remind you all that Scotland's Railway is for everyone. We will never tolerate bigotry.
Our hearts remain broken and will do for a long time. We thank the railway family, along with the local community and people across the country, for joining with us to support one another.
This is a special message for the group of 30 or so folk who travelled together by train for a trip to Largs beach this afternoon.
You're making a mockery of all the people who have worked so hard to stop the spread of Coronavirus. Wise up.
NEW: A car has encroached onto the railway at Stirling. We're working closely with the emergency services.
We're able to divert trains around this obstruction by using Platforms 6 & 9 at the station. Use P6 if you're heading for Perth/Aberdeen and P9 for Glasgow/Edinburgh. ^CT
Scott quickly and bravely stepped up when an unresponsive man was on his train at Springburn. His condition quickly deteriorated & Scott gave the passenger CPR until and the emergency services arrived. The man became responsive after the action taken by Scott.

With a tear in my eye, that's my last ever shift with the ScotRail Social Media team at an end. I'll probably not get to speak on such a high-profile platform again, so I'll finish by saying this:
You never quite know what a person has got going on. Be kind.
^Chris
To mark the passing of our colleagues Brett McCullough and Donald Dinnie, and our passenger Christopher Stuchbury, Scotland’s Railway will fall silent for one minute at 09.43 on Wednesday.
We'll be supported by colleagues across Britain, including
@Abellio_UK
&
@networkrail
.
💜 We’re sorry to hear about the collapse of
@flybe
. If you booked with them, you can travel free with us. Just show your boarding pass or booking confirmation.
Stranded Flybe staff can also travel for free when in uniform or on production of a company ID/payslip.

I agree that this is a huge waste of resources, we should not have to deal with an onslaught of abuse (and staff complaints) every time we stand up for the LGBTQ+ community. ^Angus
When I was One I had just begun
When I was Two I was nearly new
When I was Three I was hardly Me
When I was Four I was not much more
When I was Five I was just alive
But now I am Six I'm as clever as clever
So I think I'll be Six now for ever and ever
Rest In Peace.

🤮 Leaving behind your used lateral flow tests for others to find is clatty behaviour.
Staff in Edinburgh, Queen St and Glasgow Central have been in touch to say they're finding lots of these when cleaning carriages today.
This isn't on, put them in the bin.
@TRNSMTfest
NEW: Services on the Milngavie line are being delayed by a cow on the railway, which has now been remooooved.
The number 15 bus between Glasgow City Centre and Milngavie will accept your train tickets if required. ^Angus
Just waiting on the next train to Cowdenbeef...
The CCTV team providing the goods this evening!
P.S is that not the cutest cow you've ever seen?😅🐮^Megan
apparently this was sold as a live Willy Wonka Experience but they used all AI images on the website to sell tickets and then people showed up and saw this and it got so bad people called the cops lmao
Hello. I know a lot of you might be struggling today. You are not alone.
I just wanted to remind you all that we're always here to help. I don't mind chatting with you all on my shift, even if it's not related to trains!

Today marks a year since train driver Brett McCullough, conductor Donald Dinnie and passenger Christopher Stuchbury tragically lost their lives in the derailment near Stonehaven in Aberdeenshire. 1/2

We're very excited to unveil the first of our five Active Travel Carriages. These each have space for up to 20 bikes of all shapes and sizes - including tandems, and e-bikes.
They'll enter service on the
#WestHighlandLine
once we're able to safely complete staff training.
To save any more of you asking, our support for transgender people has no impact on trains running on time. But thank you for your concern.
Scotland's Railway is for everyone, and it always will be.

I've dealt with lost phones, handbags and glasses over the years but this is definitely a first!
If you've lost your monkey... it's waiting on the next service from Cambuslang into the town. 🙈^Megan
It was an action-packed day at Glasgow Central Station last week, as we welcomed Sophia Walker and her family to grant her final wish. Sophia visited the cab of an Avanti West Coast Pendolino, and one of our own Class 385s.

If you would like to join us at your local station, you are more than welcome. Thank you.
🎉 Huge congratulations to Blaal and Zahra, who are about to get married in the Grand Central Hotel at Glasgow Central! Here's the groom's party arriving in style a short while ago.

Not sure how LGBTQ+ people make trains late, but I'll add it to my list of bigoted nonsense people have sent this account. ^Angus
UPDATE: Absolute unit spotted on the track at Pollokshaws West. Sorry if you're being delayed due to this.

Every minute our team spends clearing litter is a minute that could be spent disinfecting carriages.
This was the state our 1306 Stranraer to Kilmarnock service was left in. Among the beer bottles, crisp packets and sweet wrappers, there's also a dirty nappy.
✨😍 Totally jealous of those living in the West Highlands tonight, the skies are clear and The Aurora appears to be in full swing.

We are working closely and quickly with the emergency services on the incident near Stonehaven. British Transport Police has sadly confirmed three fatalities, including our own ScotRail driver, and multiple other injuries. /1
👀 We've noticed some folk have started removing their face coverings on the train once staff are out of sight. Please, please don't do this.
It's vital that everyone who can covers their face to protect those around them.

Social media is my job. I get paid the same regardless of what I tweet. Feel free to apply for a vacancy with us if you think you can do better. ^Angus
We’re introducing carriages for bikes and sporting equipment on the
#WestHighlandLine
– a first on the UK rail network.
They’ll provide space for up to 20 bikes and large items like ski bags, as well as additional seating on this extremely popular route.
👩💻👋Well, after 3 and a half years with the ScotRail Social Media team, this will be my final Tweet. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the fun, kind comments over the years. There have been some tough days, but I've loved it!

This kind of behaviour isn't acceptable in person or online and - more importantly - it won't change anything.

Say hello to our newest recruit 👋
This is Noah, he's five years old and totally OBSESSED with trains!
Noah has severe additional needs and trains provide him with sensory stimulation.
His mum, Jade, asked if we could help give him a memorable last day of the school holidays!
Tomorrow morning, at 09.43, we’ll mark the passing of our colleagues Brett McCullough and Donald Dinnie, and our passenger Christopher Stuchbury by holding a one minute's silence.
We thank railway colleagues from across Britain for the support they’ve shown us.
At eight o'clock, train horns sounded across Scotland's Railway to show support for the NHS and key workers! 💙

From Inverness Depot....
Folks, we're getting hunners of messages asking when lines will reopen.
The simple as answer is we do not know.
Safety checks take time to complete and it's not possible to check every line at once. If repairs are required, then it will take a bit longer. ^Angus & ^DB
