Thank you to @NetworkRail Anglia Route for facilitating access to Grade II listed Thetford Signal Box for us and local stakeholders. We’d all like to see it restored but it does need a new use. Quirky relics of its past remain!

10 years after my first visit, went to see finished Mytholmroyd station, now with a multiplicity of tenants & flourishing. Delighted that we (@RailwayHeritage) were able to support & help make Geoff & Sue's dream become reality. Both there today, they should be proud of it.

Very fortunate to take a look from above into the extremely derelict Grade II Listed #NorwichTrowseStation. With thanks to @networkrail for allowing us on site and explaining the emergency works they are doing.

Great to get so close up to the knapped flint and architectural details. Sadly no floors remain in most parts of the building.

Taffs Well track layout a lifetime ago. Although when I went there as ACE (now TME) in 1979 it was almost unchanged - only Nantgarw branch singled and A470 built by then. Now totally transformed, only 2 track main line, plus new depot. Photo taken by the late Brian Mills.

We started the year with architect Benedict O’Looney’s wonderful illustrated talk on 20 January, exploring the restoration of Richmond Station. It was wonderful to see so many members and guests there. (Photo by Zhijing Zhang)

Visited Tynemouth Station today to see how well the market uses the old canopies of the station to make a thriving collection of stalls. Part of the Nexus network, 2 of the platforms are still in use. There are many other stations where this business model could be replicated.

Ptolemy is our non-Executive Director. Historic streetlights are objects which add character to places. Removing them is just another step to a bland conformist world.

I can’t wait to visit to see what has been achieved in a previously disused part of the station. So much work has gone on at Stroud in recent years by @GWRHelp & @networkrail Western route - we supported this project with a grant. Improvements to the forecourt still to come.
