Many thanks to the legends who came out today at short notice to help with some of the tasks around the skatepark at Coalie. We helped to fill raised beds, clear site access paths, pulled creeping thistle to stop it taking over, and levelled some rough ground ready for seeding.šŸ™Œ

Art is everywhere, as the children at our Coalie Park event learned today. They made leaf rubbings, explored observational drawing with bugs they found grass sweeping, and we all had great outdoor fun.

A satisfying morning at Murrayfield destroying hundreds of Himalayan balsam plants from Roseburn to Saughton. As each plant can produceĀ between 800 and 2,500 seeds, this work makes a massive difference long term to biodiversity. #inns @Edinburgh_CC

Great to see @BroughtonRugby ladies using the walkway for their preseason fitness. They've been long time participants in our work so it's great to see them just enjoying it, without a litter pick, brush or spade in hand . Good luck for the season .@scottishrugby @walking_scot

Our work is not all walkway maintenance and river cleaning, we also manage habitats, meadows and community garden. This is the time of year to revel in the beauty of our meadows and the abundance of wildflowers alongside the river, all buzzing with life in the sunshine

Many thanks to the wonderful group from Veolia who came out with us on Tuesday in Bonnington. Our main focus was pulling Himalayan Balsam but we managed to remove a few bags of litter too, & to trim back vegetation along the walkway for improved access. Great work folks! šŸ‘šŸ’ŖšŸ™ŒšŸ˜Ž

Our awesome volunteers were in the Longstone area of the walkway and river this morning, litter picking and doing path maintenance. The (sadly) common bike and trolley invasive species were successfully removed, along with 2 luggage bags and many empty nitrous oxide bottles.
