My mom did the same. She was a cashier at Walmart and kept putting off doctors appointments and treatment because she simply couldn’t afford to do them. She was also 52. Ten years ago for me. Sorry for your loss, I share your anger.

Freedom of speech has NEVER meant freedom to say whatever you want without consequences. ALL it means is the government can't jail you for your words. We learn by seeing the reactions of others to what we do. Get chastised for saying something hateful, you learn that's not ok.

I’m still masking & struggling w/the fact that Covid didn’t become less dangerous but NO ONE cares anymore. It sucks too watching virtual options stripped away even as we saw how hugely they helped disabled & high risk people. These people still exist but we’ve written them off.

Partner got hit with an 11,716 dollar bill for an ambulance ride they & refused to let me drive him. Said he was too likely to have something catastrophic happen. He wasn't. They did nothing. We're STILL fighting to get it lowered. Looks like 2g even at best costs right now.

Desalination is incredibly expensive. Until the costs are able to come down I think governments would balk at the price tag. Don't forget this is the same country where healthcare is a privilege and guns get priority over just about anything.

It sucks that I have to say this but where I work my direct boss nearly died of Covid & has multiple long Covid issues so she’s been fabulous about making folks stay HOME if they’re still showing up positive. Can do much about liars but she’s trying at least.
