Question to @TorontoRBOT about the Congestion Task Force. Why doesn’t it include people that utilize bikes as primary mode of transportation? #BikeTO and/or @BikeShareTO + @GOtransit and/or @TTChelps doesn’t solve congestion but it should be the easiest to invest in & implement

👇🏼While our premier cut vehicle registration fees and cuts ⛽️ tax, and the focus on car 🚙 theft is taking too much air, instead of holding 🚗 manufacturers to account. Only safer & smaller vehicles with speed control should be allowed on our streets.

If you are an able bodied person, that has their Range Rover and Jaguars being stolen from your driveway, it's time for an upgrade. 1. Get a @PRESTOcard 2. Sign up for @BikeShareTO 3. If there is space in your house, get a bike. Doesn't need to be fancy. Saved you multiple $$

👇🏼This is the best news 🗞️ that we @CycToronto @Yonge4All @FFSafeStreets @Walk_TO and others could ask for. The city must direct ALL developers to keep their construction staging areas off of our public right of way! 👊🏼 THANK YOU @JoshMatlow !! You rock 🪨

A developer wanted a 3 year shut down of the Yonge bike lane for a construction staging area. This would’ve been unsafe & unacceptable. I’m delighted to report that, working creatively with both the applicant & city staff, housing will be built while keeping the bike lane open.

Someone made a map of Toronto’s streetcar routes from 1945. This is what we used to have. Then we tore up most of the tracks so corporations could get rich selling cars, oil, and rubber tires instead. https://t.co/GJzrnb9zSG

I was just about to dig this up, since this is an issue adjacent to the issue of undertaxing larger homes in the city through municipal assessments, which makes the Star investigation sting just that much more. Cost per household of a suburban built form vs an urban built form.

Paris now has 180 gorgeous ‘school streets.’ They are pedestrianized and landscaped streets around schools - to mitigate crashes, prioritize walking to school, reduce noise and air pollution. No brainer, really.

I wrote this op ed about how the *public* infrastructure of the Ontario Food Terminal supports the retail diversity that the Competition Bureau calls for in its grocery industry report released last week.
