No idea why, but road safety tends to not get the publicity it deserves - most forms of transport are pretty safe, but roads remain a big worry.
Thank you @LouHaigh for making this vital point. Five people are killed on our roads every single day, on average. We would not tolerate this level of harm in any other aspect of our lives

Very weird as it is like being in Germany - highly recommended!
Christmas came early today for me and many Brummies. It’s great to be in Birmingham to open the city’s wonderful Frankfurt Christmas market together with @BrumLordMayor Ken Wood and Frankfurt’s Mayor Mike Josef 🎄

I know it well! Great building - Gibberd left behind so many good buildings in my home town Harlow - check out the train station - shades of Frank Lloyd Wright
This was the first residential tower block to be built in Britain. 🏢 Situated in Harlow, Essex, 'The Lawn' was part of master planner Frederick Gibberd’s scheme to house 60,000 people in the New Town. The block even received a Ministry of Health Housing medal in 1952.
