First Pathania Lab paper in @CD_AACR: https://t.co/dIecm8mZMB. We developed 16 mouse models of various subtypes of pediatric high-grade gliomaโ€” mirroring their different H3 mutant contexts, anatomical compartmentalizations and co-segregating partner alterations. Thread below 1/17

Prevention beats cure, which is why it's so exciting that Lenacapavir, a twice-yearly HIV preventative, just got approved for the first time (by the FDA) Why is it such a big deal? When trialled (in women in South Africa and Uganda) there were 0 HIV infections ๐Ÿงต

In 1993 Ukraine *gave up their nukes* in exchange for a guarantee of future protection from the USA. If the USA isn't going to keep their word (which is a scummy beta move) then give them back the same amount of nukes that were destroyed so they can protect their own selves.

Fine, here we go. First let's start with some baseline expectations. Pancreatic cancer is scary, 5y survival is ~10%. So if you see a trial with an apparent survival asymptote at ~50% then certainly *something* is happening, right?

*Every single* cure for a disease ultimately flowed from basic exploratory research. Stopping basic research is like stopping the mountain rains and expecting rivers of cures to still flow. Examples: 1) studying saliva of Gila monster -> GLP1's 2) studying funghi -> first

As a taxpayer (irrespective of whether youโ€™re a scientist) would you would be in favor of more of the @NIH budget going to fund efforts to solve specific diseases at the expense of basic exploratory research? Which diseases?
