I would hope that serious scoping work will begin on alternative futures for UK defence and intelligence - eg withdrawal from Trident programme. HM government might as well know the costs and alternatives before it has to bring these cards into play

@larisamlbrown It hasn’t backfired. It has flushed out the fact that this was never about security of the region, and that Trump does not see NATO as part of the USA’s security solution. Trump’s strategy is now exposed for what it was - a land grab.
