Nice to speak to @Telegraph about that video, and how many custard creams I’ve eaten. https://t.co/x0ySNngldo

The Treasury is furious about what the OBR did today, but reading George Osborne’s speech about setting it up in 2010, it was clearly within its mandate. Purpose: Stop politicians using ropey forecasts to justify political choices. That is seemingly what Reeves did.
@GeorgeWParker MORE SHOTS FIRED The Treasury has now hit back after the OBR took what it admitted was the 'unusual' step of publishing details about the non-existent black hole in the public finances in the run-up to the Budget It suggests that the OBR has breached the security of the Budget

The fact that those in No 10 thought this debacle would harm Streeting rather than being a gift wrapped opportunity to show loyalty while simultaneously showing all of the qualities in him that Starmer doesn’t have, shows their level of political incompetence.
Wes Streeting is handling one of the most difficult media rounds possible with deft, humour and confidence. Predictably, so. Which makes the judgement to spotlight him all the more bizarre.

Let’s fuck Streeting up by letting him show how much better he is under pressure than Starmer. Absolute idiots.
