The cost has never included the right of way acquisition, which TxDOT estimates at $7 bn. TxDOT wants to spend ~$20 bn, almost $1bn PER MILE, to level 000s of properties, filled w/ the memories and dreams of our neighbors, to build highway. We will not stop fighting @StopTxDOTi45

The “dawn to dusk” rule for trails totally negates their use as transportation infrastructure. If TxDOT closes it “at night” that will force people to take a likely unsafe detour during the least safe time of day. We must require a detour as safe as the bayou trail.

Great story from @jayrjordan. By the time it's under construction, no one who voted for it will be around to enforce it. When @MarioforHouston raised these concerns, it's because we've been here before. TxDOT does not engage in good faith. @SaveWhiteOak https://t.co/mdLt6hPhzV

AUSTIN SINGLE-STAIR APARTMENTS! Austin city council just passed a resolution directing staff to look at single-stair reform as a part of their 2024 building code update! This is a MASSIVE step toward enabling more missing-middle and affordable housing to be built in Austin!

So much which is f'd up about this but let's start here. Whitmire talks a lot about transparency but does the opposite. Zero engagement with the community. For a project which required widespread support. Including him. The hypocrisy is stunning.

Apparently there was a time when a 20 lane urban highway was regarded as absurd. If you want to stop 22 lanes through Central Austin, write your letter to CAMPO today!

Scoop: A spokesperson for @houmayor @whitmire_john told the @HoustonChron that David Fields "was not asked to resign" earlier this month. An interoffice memo obtained by Axios, however, shows he resigned "in lieu of termination" https://t.co/OFfWKIDkoZ

Well it’s not pretty but it’s certainly an improvement; safer & smoother for anyone coming from any direction on/off or past the bridge. And they even replaced some pieces of railing on the bridge! Thanks @HouPublicWorks!

Woohoo! Looks like @HouPublicWorks is finally going to fix the busted path on my bike commute route on both sides of the bridge! My original request was from October 2022!!! (That’s not a typo). Big thanks to District A @AmyPeck for helping push this through.

I spent a few hours walking almost 3 miles on Montrose Boulevard between W. Dallas and W. Alabama, where the TIRZ plans to plant hundreds of trees, build an off-street path to @buffalobayou, improve drainage and upgrade infrastructure to the law and code, and this is what I saw

This am at HGAC, I was told I cannot even SPEAK, let alone vote, as an alternate for our city. Today is the first time they’ve decided to “enforce” this. Thousands of residents are demanding meaningful shares Houston, today is the exact opposite of that. @FairforHouston
