If @SecDuffy were really concerned about safety, he would ban four-lane undivided streets, which, unlike rainbow crosswalks, are actually dangerous.

He threatened to withhold road funding from cities and counties if they do not remove “political ideologies” from their streets.

My NYC mayoral platform: - Eliminate all zoning, FAR, height restrictions - Achieve Nordic costs of subway construction and do Alon's subway plan - Long Manhattan - Regional sea wall defense - Build over Sunnyside Yards - Retrofit the top of the Empire State Building to accept

Excellent opinion piece that captures the stakes: people's lives. The Mayor has been wholly inadequate on street safety. After two years of declines, his administration has seen a rise in road deaths. He's failing to keep us safe.

The mayor wants consensus but public safety is more important.

"I'm not going to destroy a neighborhood." Great news to start your Friday: Gov. Kathy Hochul says she won't allow Amtrak to level the block south of Penn Station for its unnecessary, $17B Penn Expansion project. https://t.co/LMZkOs0LXs

Gov. Kathy Hochul pulled the rug out from under Amtrak’s hope to double the capacity of Penn Station by tearing down the block immediately south of the present ...

Turns out six hours aboard @RideBustang in nasty I-70 conditions is what it took to get me off of here! Find me where the sky is blue, same username.

So unfortunate it won’t be high-level.
Work is fully underway to build a new Connecticut River Bridge, which will replace the aging 117-year-old structure still in use today! Enjoy these early progress photos from the past few months since we officially broke ground. Read our latest update: https://t.co/kkWospBn7v

the cool thing about snow in NYC is that it shows you have many cars are parked illegally and haven’t moved in days. we really need to get rid of free parking in Manhattan

Among those who've started commuting by subway as a result of congestion pricing: the Midtown diner owner who nearly convinced Kathy Hochul to kill the toll entirely. It takes him about 25 min from Astoria. https://t.co/24lu7ZPukG

It's astounding how outdoor dining and congestion pricing became “progressive-coded” despite the former granting public space to private businesses and the latter using market means to influence commuter decisions, all because right-wingers couldn't get over their car worship.
In a slightly different world, this week center-right New York Republicans are doing a victory lap celebrating the effectiveness of their market-based mechanism to reduce traffic and improve the efficiency of road infrastructure.

I would like to request a commission from @NYCTSubway for explaining this 96th Street bound N train to dozens of confused riders while we were held at 34th Street.

Connecticut cities need to be bigger, just like they were generations ago! 🌆 More jobs 💼, more housing 🏠, and better transportation 🚗🚉 are the ingredients to rebuilding our cities and towns! #ConnecticutValues

It’s working! Pleasant journey, @NYCferry is great!
Normally my commute from Rockaway is about a hour and 15 minutes by car in the morning (it’s much less at night). Today, google maps said it would take an hour and three minutes. 12 minutes saved isn’t worth the $9 to me - so on the ferry I go.

it’s already happening. congestion pricing is working and becoming more popular
I expect congestion pricing to become more popular after it gets implemented and people see it working (as it did in places like London). Hopefully this builds the political support for congestion pricing schemes in other cities like DC/Bos/LA/Chi/SF/etc https://t.co/u9OL3HqOAI
