Every time you see how much the Dutch🇳🇱 invest in cycling, remember that the societal benefits outweigh this by far! Annually: 💰🚲 €510 million (€30 per capita) 👩‍⚕️🩺 €19 billion in health savings alone (Daphne Schippersbrug in #Utrecht)

Two years ago today I published this article making the case for phone-freee schools. The case is far stronger today, now that so many schools are getting great results, esp. hearing noise and laughter in the hallways again. https://t.co/psleaVTUIL

When schools go truly phone free--collected and stored away for the day--the results are transformative. When phones are only prohibited during class time, they are still very disruptive DURING class. Give kids and teachers a break.

This is one of the great graphics of education policy, and is worthy of deep study. Phones are a scourge, and if you're running a school that allows them *in any way* you are increasing the chances of disruption massively. Control the controllables. @TeacherTapp

The TfL figures about 20mph speed limits in the capital, as published in today’s Standard, underline what many of us have known for years; slower speeds save lives.
