A thing to note though: going to the mosque is more than just offering your Salah in congregation. It is also a way to meet other religious people, listen to sermons, feel religiously inspired, seeking support from your community, mosque lessons and events, etc.

Islamic gathering. They hosted multiple speakers. Saying takbeer is commonplace - for eid, for big meetings. There was a separation of genders - the men were all on the floor ground and the women were all on the raised sides. No intermingling at all

What I find funny is that when it's convenient, muslims will ask you to provide a hadith that very literally says something is wrong. I.e. show me proof I can't slap my wife But then if I said show me a hadith that literally says don't post selfies, I'd be the bad guy 🤣
