this was a stylish undercover cop thriller that slowly reveals itself as an operatic neo-noir tragedy. corrupt institutions feed on chaos, using people as collateral in schemes indifferent to the lives destroyed. solemn and cynical despite a cautiously hopeful finale.
deep cover (bill duke, 1992) been on my watchlist for a solid year or two at this point. someone posted a clip of an insane scene wipe a few weeks back and it boosted it way up to the top. laurence fishburne still billed as larry here.

The basic problem with AI bros is that their cultural tastes caps out at Ready Player One, so disconnected 10 second clips of, I dunno, Master Chief taking a selfie with Batman, *is* their idea of art.
I think AI bros are really going to have to come to terms with the reality that many people who criticize generative AI are more often right & understand the technology far better than they do. You guys are too enamored with the idea & hypothetical potential/benefits of the tech

Since January 2020, I haven't left the house without a mask because I don't want to kill. Everyone knows that COVID kills. I didn't take off my mask when killing became the norm, because normality isn't the same as morality.
If you were wearing a mask at the beginning of the back to normal push you were intelligent enough to know that covid is bad for you, and brave enough to do the unpopular thing. And If you are still wearing a mask after years of all this bullshit, your will is iron.
