june 15th 2024 / yes, *technically* born male but I feel like it’s pretty clear my genes were secretly wanting to go in a different direction. like I’m sorry but when I bought my first eyeliner and popped my first pills my body had to be like “okay we can WORK with this”

(at the time I actually considered these girls to be two of my bullies, but looking back I think they were just dealing with what an annoying, sarcastic know-it-all I was by making fun of me a bunch. if they’ve grown out of it, good for them, because I certainly haven’t!)

in their defense, they were 17 and didn’t have a team of agents, managers, etc., around them, but still. maybe this is just something a lot of people don’t think about?

when I was in the last year of high school, a couple of girls planning their trip to Ibiza asked me if they would be alright packing some ecstasy in their carry-ons so they didn’t have to buy any when they got there. I told them to watch literally any episode of Banged Up Abroad

“why did This Person double down??” well when it’s happened to me, it was usually because I made an offhand comment from an emotionally charged place and then my brain had to invent brand new neurons in real time to deal with one million voices screaming at me from a single mouth

human brains are very prepared for saying something fucked up in the heat of the moment and getting pushback from a few friends, colleagues, or family members. they are NOT prepared for one hundred thousand people yelling at them with no allowance for grace

Should’ve kept the USSR around, man. To quote Worm, “You needed worthy opponents.”

Netflix and Warner Bros yet another reminder that the United States has always been the evil avatar of capitalism, there was at least a period when it recognized it needed to keep itself in check, like the ban on studio system vertical integration. The past wasn’t “better”, but.

for instance: “huh, looks like ‘ella mccay’ is getting some pretty bad notices. I wonder if that’s because it’s a weird ‘I have a crush’ project from the oldest man in the world who lost his directing fastball decades ago?”

a fun thing you can still do is tell your partner that a movie is getting “bad notices”.

ranking our favorite grasses and agreeing that it’s unfair that bamboo is even in the conversation. all the other grasses know it’s just a fight for the number two spot. the league needs to intervene

So this is *another* organization forced into an exclusionary policy by a well-funded hate group who do not reflect the concerns and priorities of real, everyday people.

I was invited to speak about trans rights at a couple of Women’s Institutes back in 2018, and both times the members were effusive with praise and thrilled to have gotten a different perspective. No complaints, no bigotry. A positive experience for all involved.
Yesterday, it was Girl Guiding UK. Today it's the Women's Institute. Fuck transphobes. Fuck them all into the bowels of hell. https://t.co/DHYDG47jdV

you know twitter is cooked because it USED to be that being brigaded by transphobes at least had the side-effect that the closeted chasers among them would subscribe to my onlyfans. which exists, by the way. I don’t post a lot, but I post good stuff and I never try to upsell

every single day I think about a world where that child could’ve said “I’m a girl”, a world where that child didn’t have to feel so strange and wrong and sad all the time. anyone celebrating yesterday’s girl guiding decision is celebrating childhood fear, anxiety, and depression

*four years old* and I knew something wasn’t right, knew that the body people were seeing and reacting to didn’t fit with who I was. I was crying. bringing this photo home made me cry. this was the early-90s, nobody was “putting” that stuff in my head

this has drawn more anti-trans bigotry than I’ve had in a while, including one reply claiming that “no child is trans until an adult puts that idea in their head”. attached is my first ever school photo. I remember bringing it home, grabbing a pen, and scratching it out. age 4
my older sister had a girl guide handbook from when she’d considered joining, and I read that thing over and over, yearning to be part of everything it represented. this is such ugly news, such a blow to young trans girls

pretty bad sign that the bbc article uses the language “biological boys who identify as girls”, too. just a pointlessly nasty thing to say

if you’re young and trans, you’re more likely than ever to know exactly what you are, which means you understand that these decisions are about _you_, are against _you_. the hate group has leveraged its massive institutional power to alienate and hurt young trans girls. evil work
