The Irish went centuries of brutal British rule, the Irish Civil War, then the Troubles decades later, and then afterwards finally knew freedom, peace and some prosperity. Then it took only 30+ years to raise a generation of proggressives to throw freedom away. Devestating.

There is no comparison to what is going on in Ireland today. America is and was a Christian country during Irish Migration, who were also Christians. Easy assimilation. They did not recieve welfare or benefits. Relatives already living here had to sponsor and support them.
