Wow!! Ring Ouzels on my late @WeBS_UK - alt 350m #YorkshireDales moor. They do breed right in this spot - but poss winter migrants rather home grown stayers? Ideas welcome. Some Fieldfares & Redwings to boot. @MarkCocker2 @nybirdnews @BradfordNature #BirdsOfTwitter #Birds

Leighton Moss is still great for wildlife - so don't hesitate to visit BUT don't try visiting the Allen and Eric Morecambe hides until further notice because the car park and paths are flooded - we've some big tides backed by big winds.

"Mors tua, vita mea." An amazing picture from the Val Tramontina (Pordenone) by Renato Fadi of a (male) Horn-nosed Viper (Vipera ammodytes) immortalised in the act of swallowing a Robin. Should keep him going for the winter! Via FB.

Having a break from here for a bit. It’s been hard seeing disturbance of nesting seabirds & seals, now knowing that an adventure hub will be built & that in Pembrokeshire disturbance is deemed acceptable. Proud to be part of a united community that has tried to protect this bay

'It was mayhem. It was magic. It was beyond words, beyond price, in fact, beyond any kind of human measure, except to say that it makes all our lives richer merely to know that it is there. Now.' Thrilling writing by @MarkCocker2 on a wonder-full spectacle.

To think that we could even consider jeopardising one of the last great displays of natural abundance in England for trade benefits to Lincolnshire and Norfolk beggars belief.

The Wash does not need a barrage: https://t.co/g8ATbdMEBz So many #waders from so many countries depend on the wonderful mud, as discussed here: https://t.co/VOZ0ZBHPzt

129 hen harriers confirmed 'missing' or illegally killed in UK since 2018, most of them on or close to grouse moors. Utterly shameful policy from @NaturalEngland @DefraGovUK This is on your watch now, @MaryCreagh_ @SteveReedMP How many more? New blog: https://t.co/zflbHYdIZX

Groundhog day ad infinitum. So, @DefraNature @NaturalEngland we have known what the problem is for decades - so what are you doing to make managers & employers on sporting estates criminally responsible for this endless carnage? (PS the answer is not brood management)

A Hen Harrier has disappeared in suspicious circumstances in the Bowland area. The young female, named Helius, suddenly vanished in July: the satellite tag which had been reliably showing her whereabouts suddenly cutting out. A police search found no trace of her or her tag.

Hello @NatResWales I have asked by email exactly what you mean by “to ensure disturbance [of nesting seabirds]is kept at an acceptable level” and you have declined to answer. It’s important because the future biodiversity of Ceibwr Bay pivots on these statements. @huw4ogmore
