Yes the NHS is facing financial challenges but surely the cost of looking after staff with tea/coffee would pale in comparison to paying agency staff for vacant shifts if resident docs were to leave?!? And it shows the Employers CARE for their staff!.

Iāve been unable to forget that ever.sinceā¦ impressions are easy to form and difficult to forget. Compare that to my experience of how staff were treated in NZ was heavens apartā¦ Every year the hospital threw a free BBQ for all staff.2/.

Itās sad to see how staff are being treated. When I was an F1 doc many years ago, my registrar (who was up all night doing emergency surgery) made herself a cup of coffee using ward stock at 5am only to get threatened with disciplinary hearing.1/.
I was in the middle of a long night shift. Looking after too many sick patients to count. At 3am, a nurse made me a cup of tea. The matron called us both in at 8am for an informal disciplinary meeting.
