It was a real honour to watch @Rhiannon_Barrow graduate yesterday. It wasn't always easy (trying to cure brain cancer is tough, & through COVID to boot!) but she worked hard & showed great problem-solving ability & resilience. A PhD well earned. Congratulations Dr Barrow 👏 🙌👩‍🎓

We took cytoplasm from a GBM cell to get its transcriptional profile WITHOUT KILLING THE CELL so we could do the same again, for the same cell, at a later time point. 🤯This blows my mind & is so needed to research glioma cell plasticity! @BrainTumourOrg @UKRI_News @SENTINEL_ITN

Single cell RNA-seq has changed our understanding of cellular heterogeneity but it only provides a snapshot at a fixed time point of the cell transcriptome... not any more !
