Not yet read Peter Shergold's Independent COVID Review? See Peter's own take on the key lessons from the review in The Policymaker. 2 min read.
COVID-19 exposed significant fault lines in Australian society and revealed weaknesses in our national capabilities. We now have to build the lessons learned into our institutional structures. Read Prof Peter Shergold's new article in The Policymaker https://t.co/t1SNF9uAGk

As world leaders make their way to Egypt for #COP27, it's time to get real about policy change, writes @AmandaTatts in The Policymaker. And this will mean putting people and communities at the centre of policymaking. Read more https://t.co/06Ip8yVO3q

Labor’s October Budget was good news for #agedcare - but the hard questions of funding the Support at Home program remain. Here are @DrRachaelLewis & Prof Mike Woods' 2 ideas for cost-sharing models. @UTSEngage @UNSW #Auspol #OctBudget2022

Between 1,500-15,000 people are estimated to be in #modernslavery in Australia, and 50 million worldwide. The process of developing a strategic plan provides an opportunity to identify where risks exist in NSW, where responses are working well, and where they could work better.

Great article from @harejulie on academic performance / outcome and the link to school funding - exploring the evidence. Such an important and complex public policy issue, with major consequences for both social equity/ mobility and future economic growth.
Contrary to the @ozprodcom interim report on school reform, we need to improve Australian students' academic performance is redistribution of funding away from non-gov schools, a system that deals with geographic inequality and a focus on boys https://t.co/xJxyQ6lZ88
