Making five recommendations for reform, this working paper evidences the critiques by migrant community groups of the existing carer visa’s restrictive eligibility criteria, complex application process and lengthy processing times.

In 2023, the Lab held the #AustraliaCares Westmead People’s Assemblies on Care to support community members to identify the challenges and solutions that mattered to them most. They identified the carer visa as a priority.

We're pleased to share a new working paper from the Lab's CARE Program on "Reforming the Carer Visa: Community-Centred Policy Options" by @sianperry_, Anna Boucher, @BrennanKate and @ProfBrendan.

Universities have responded to disagreements on campuses with new research and initiatives that aim to foster social cohesion and generative disagreement. The Lab invites readers to explore the format, identify gaps and suggest related initiatives for inclusion.
