For most nonprofits, the most effective way to raise money is to spend time with individual donors. The least effective is to hold entertainment events: galas, golf, food/wine. If your event takes six months to plan and raises two months of budget, it’s a waste of time & effort.

I remember being startled when I asked a 30-year-old man where his girlfriend was and he said “Studying for exams.” I said “Is she in law school?” He replied “She’s a sophomore in college.” 19. Wow.
@Freeyourmindkid
Suspending that student from school may save their life. It could be the biggest back-handed favor ever. Maybe all the students can take pictures and post them and get suspended. It reminds me of someone who was fired from their job in the World Trade Centers on September 10, 01.

Would you be willing to post the name of the police station and their Twitter handle? I will bet that if a number of us tag them on social media, they will take a report. You can also include your local newspaper Twitter handle or that of local TV stations.

If you shave, you’re basically giving your face a mini-workout ever day, which helps. Also, it’s acceptable for men to age, so no one will notice a few wrinkles.
@StevieNicksTD
I’m going to guess that the woman who called him an incel was right. Now the fun thing would be for every man in the Facebook group to send him a message saying “Hi, how are you,” start imposing discussions of classic fiction, and see how into platonic relationships he really is.
@moorehn
Where’s the part where he connects “Taking testosterone” “sex drive is crazy” & “I can’t control myself” and he realizes “I need to lay off testosterone before I rape my wife again”? And then get therapy to stop thinking that a woman resisting rape is “so feminine” and a turn-on.
Advice to girls/women 14-40:
Delete period apps now
Back away from friends who are snitches
Get super-reliable birth control: IUD, implant
Don’t date pro-life men
Buy Plan B in advance with cash
14-20: Don’t attend college in a pro-life state
Back away from pro-life friends

Here's something puzzling: it's illegal to have sex with someone underage, right? A baby with a teenage mom is DNA proof that a man had illegal sex with an underage girl. So why isn't anyone calling for the prosecution of men proven to be having sex with underage girls?
@ask_aubry
I agree - women need to focus on having a career and making their own money, because men can and do leave. Also, don’t be the 19-year-old dating an older man. He’s pursuing you because a woman his age knows what’s wrong with him.
@CatDocMD
I remember reading about a man who said he would divorce his wife if she had her breast cut off because of cancer. She said “I’ll die without the operation.” He said “Maybe no, maybe so.” He did divorce her, and she was on his health insurance. She died of cancer.
@moorehn
She’s “a good mom” and he’s 29, which means she married young and is now trapped with small children. He was going out on a Friday night to have fun while she probably would be stuck at home with the kids. I hope she has an older, wiser woman friend to see her and help her.
@GenoVeno73
A trucking company said that if a driver refuses a load to NY, his resignation is accepted. If those truckers try filing for unemployment, they’ll find it takes months to fight their employer saying it was a resignation. Months with no money when 1/2 of Americans don’t have $400.

People make the decision that’s best for them. Teenage girls watching the

case are deciding which college to attend. Thousands will decide to go to colleges in pro-choice states. Boys will decide to go where the girls go. The pro-life states will have a brain drain.
@ask_aubry
I once had a guy ask me similarly what body part I would change if I could. I said my baby toe because it curls under. That's true, but he had no idea what to do with it, because I didn't display the self-loathing he expected and gave him nothing he could use against me. Jerks.
@BadMedicalTakes
I seriously think that any politician (particularly male politicians) should have to pass an exam about women’s anatomy, contraception, pregnancy, gestation, and childbirth before being allowed to write or vote on laws about abortion. I suspect most have this level of knowledge.
@DoomScroling
Good idea. We can’t have states deciding what should or shouldn’t be legal in another state. Is Texas going to jail their men for going to Nevada for legal sex with prostitutes? Doubtful. They just want to criminalize women’s choices. The Interstate Commerce Clause wants a word.
@ask_aubry
The person posting nasty things on her Instagram isn’t a friend he lied about her to, it’s him. He’s too immature to be married to, and he isn’t interested in growing and changing. He chose her because a woman his age would have caught on.
@RachelBrougham
Yes to all this. And for people reading this, please continue to invite widows to your parties and events. It doesn’t matter if “everyone else is a couple.” It’s terrible the way that women who aren’t coupled are iced out of a lot of parties.
So Kate Cox in Texas might die because Big Government panels get to decide her health care. Congratulations MAGA Republicans, you just created Death Panels.
@ask_aubry
Imagine him on future dates, “My wife and I had a baby and then she stopped having sex with me so I divorced her.” Women will run from that. He’s not taking care of the kid or caring about his wife = ginormous red flag. 🚩🚩🚩
@ask_aubry
He could have bought the cheap Walmart tea set for his niece. He could have bought a bone China tea set on eBay and had it shipped to his niece. He could have told the niece “Sorry, you can’t have this.” He could have been honest with his wife at any time. She’s right to leave.
@ask_aubry
I bet he never helps with their baby, or with housework, and his wife is exhausted and sick of him. Oh, and probably sex was all about him and his needs, and she can take care of her own needs better without him.
@ask_aubry
This is exactly why it's important that women have our own careers and make our own money, so that we can buy our own steak and lobster, and not date guys who think a $50 meal entitles them to sex.
Oh, and also I like pizza and burgers.
All these so-called “pro-lifers” think anti-abortion laws will never be used against them. They imagine abortion bans are to force “sl*ts” to stay pregnant. They don’t imagine they’d ever need or want an abortion. They haven’t thought through giving Big Government so much power.
@JMShumway
I sincerely hope that the people of Shasta County decide to 1) Not go to the fair this year; and 2) Vote out the sheriff for wasting taxpayer dollars. Also 3) I hope this young girl runs for political office when she's old enough; & 4) I hope they sue the hell out of the county.

My father was a tough combat veteran & self-proclaimed chauvinist. He also did the dishes every night, cooked dinner twice a week, made us kids breakfast and packed our lunches, helped us with homework, and did his own laundry. He said “Men work 8 hours a day, women work 24.”

In a few days, we’ll find: the school knew he was a danger, the professor knew, the department knew, the Dean knew, the police knew, the police where the shooter lived knew. No one could do anything until the shooter broke a law, because odd behavior & threats weren’t enough.
@ask_aubry
“I know you have a son…” He starts by telling her he’s been asking around about her and he’s found out she has a child. Mentioning her son is a subtle way of saying “Pay attention to me, because I might hurt your child if you don’t.” It’s like saying “I know where you live.”

A friend has a doctorate from MIT, probably never got less than an A. When he was complaining about not sleeping all night because of his 1st kid, I thought "Has he never pulled an all-nighter for school?" Later I learned the hard way, it's not 1 night, it's night after night.

Idaho will lose people. Women won’t go to college there, so men won’t go because there are no women there. Those who can afford to move will. Companies won’t attract new employees. Docs won’t practice there: they won’t arrive or they’ll leave. Even pro-lifers will move for care.

It’s great that you recognize that why is right for you will be different for other people. Just 1 point: do you see how you list contraception for women but not for men? Please consider that men need to ejaculate responsibly, & use condoms until they can raise a kid.
@notcapnamerica
It’s better for the fiancée to know than to not know. I’m glad this woman is looking out for another woman. Virtually every woman who knows a woman getting married to a Pat or Matt Adams is calling her friend & asking if the guy had a bachelor’s party on Saturday. Crowdsourcing!

I believe the expression is “Bold enough is old enough.” In other words, if he’s bold enough to ruin someone’s day, he’s old enough to experiences consequences from his actions. Oh, wait, we teach even toddlers that actions have consequences. He can serve as an example to others.
@ask_aubry
I suppose some will say that women should not tell men about their sexual past. But I think that a woman talking about her past is a great way to get rid of the insecure guys.
I once got dumped by a guy when he found out I had a college degree and he didn’t. No regrets.

people should read this thread if they think that pregnant teens and victims of incest will be taken care of during their forced pregnancies.
@ask_aubry
He was a man pushing 40 having sex with a teenager. Then he didn’t want to share in her possible pain of a miscarriage and didn’t want to “get his hopes up” about a pregnancy while she would be facing a lot of emotions. Sounds like he doesn’t have good character or values.

Download what you need to know about abortion in advance

Is this person trying to say that trans women post-op have different-looking vulvas? Really? Why does she care? Why does anyone care? What a weird thing to care about.
Also, a trans woman friend told me her gynecologist said “If I didn’t know, I wouldn’t know.”
If a guy gets you pregnant & turns out to be anti-abortion, be prepared to lie: say “I was wrong” or “I got my period, it was just late”
Don’t support an anti-abortion church with your tithe
Don’t talk around your phone, an Alexa, a computer, or a smart TV: assume they snitch 4/
If this sounds extreme, we are living in extreme times. Think like it’s 1932 Germany; don’t wait until it gets worse. By 1933, Jews who wanted to escape German couldn’t, or it took 4 years of very difficult times. States that pass pro-life laws today will arrest tomorrow. 9/

Hour-long commutes in gas-guzzling cars where everyone has to arrive at 8:30 a.m. to a job they can do from home, that would take 30 minutes if there were varying and flexible start times, and 0 minutes if they were trusted to work at home.

140,000 to 800,000 hospitalizations from flu every year, 12,000 to 61,000 deaths from flu every year. You know the flu deaths from this winter? 453. Not 453,000, just 453. Masks alone would have saved millions of lives.
@ask_aubry
Really? If I was the girlfriend I would not take him back. He’s got a drinking problem and a best friend he has feelings for. The girlfriend can do better. And my dude, you have a friend who cheats on guys and who just did her best to break up your relationship. Ditch her.
If your state is anti-choice, assume they’ll eventually start arresting and investigating any girl/woman who had an abortion or even who miscarried. Don’t talk about possible pregnancy, even though your state isn’t prosecuting now, you don’t want to be the first. 5/
Don’t assume that if you need a D&C for a miscarriage you’ll get it. Don’t think “Surely I’ll get an exception.” There will not be “Surely Exceptions” because the pro-life movement does NOT care if you die. Assume there will be no exceptions, not even if it’s necessary. 16/
@LilianaSotoAZ
I was blocks away from my campus shooting and you can tell by the number of my tweets that I’m still upset eight years later. Here’s something horrifying: years from now you’ll read a list of campus mass murders & see they didn’t count this because enough people didn’t die.

This thread is hard to read. Please call out the name of the hospital AND city. Women: boycott Catholic hospitals if you have a choice. Insurance: pull insurance from Catholic hospitals if you can, or offer clients a choice. Companies: insist insurance use non-Catholic hospitals.

I realized last year that when the flight attendants greet you, they’re not doing it to be friendly. They’re looking to see who might be trouble. They immediately spotted the woman next to me who got kicked off before the flight took off. She wouldn’t follow safety directions.
@Acyn
Anti-abortion “pro-lifers” want to revise the meaning of the word abortion because they don’t want to admit that abortion can save women’s lives.
You think I’m alarmist? Prepare anyway. Assume knowledgeable docs will leave your state or retire. Assume your doc will be too afraid of jail or a lawsuit to give even legal medical care. Assume government doesn’t care if you die. Pray for sunshine, prepare for rain. End/
@ask_aubry
When abortion was illegal, some of the illegal doctors and men giving abortions would rape the women first because they knew they wouldn’t get pregnant and wouldn’t report.
Anyone who says I’m alarmist: The worst that happens is you have friends you trust, you learn electronics can eavesdrop, you have info written down, you live in a pro-choice state, you date pro-choice, & you have $1,000 in cash in case of emergency. It won’t hurt you. 12/
@LilianaSotoAZ
I’ve decided to tell you what happens next, but part of me wonders if I shouldn’t. Anyway, you’ll find that his family knew he was a danger, his therapist knew, his past & present roommates knew. Some perhaps knew he had guns. You’ll find him used as a hero by sick internet men.

In creating a baby, can the man be replaced by a sperm donor? Yes. Can the woman be replaced by an egg donor? No. A woman is still needed to gestate, for now.
If there were only 10 men in the world and 3 billion women, does the human race continue? Yes. The reverse? No.
For anyone who says: I’m pro-life and you’re telling women not to date me! Well boo-hoo. Wait till marriage to have sex and keep it zipped. Use condoms every single time, no exceptions, unless you & your WIFE agree to get pregnant or she’s in menopause. 13/
In a “pro-life” state, don’t talk about a trip to a pro-choice state. Don’t post pics on social media, don’t wear souvenirs. If you do get an out-of-state abortion, lie about where you went, or show souvenirs to anyone who asks if you got an abortion: We went to Disneyland! 6/
@FirstInMyFam
One of the signs of a future abuser is that they want to move fast. They say “I love you” quickly, they want to move in together quickly. Look up “signs of an abuser” and see if anything fits. Not believing in truth when he sees it is also a huge red flag. 🚩
Prepare that you or a friend may get pregnant. Keep some Plan B at home. Know how to use your birth control as Plan B: usually 2-6 pills
Know who will help if you need it: money, a car, cover that you “went camping for the weekend”
Start putting together extra $ if you need it 7/
Men, pro-life or pro-choice, may be accused of helping someone travel for an abortion. There are authoritarian @&&holes who might spitefully report an innocent man. Or you might need to help. We are each in danger. Remember: none of the women burned as witches were witches. 11/
If you’re in a pro-life state and you’re pro-life: Decide now that you won’t snitch. You won’t risk a friend’s life and freedom because they might be pregnant, might have had a miscarriage, or even have an abortion. Don’t say you hate Big Government and then snitch to it. 14/
@ask_aubry
I don’t worry about any problem that can be solved by about $15. Also, this probably isn’t the guy for her if this is what causes him to meltdown. Can you imagine him in a real emergency?
Even if you’re male and/or pro-life, don’t assume you’re safe; miscarriages could be investigated as homicides, wanted pregnancies might need to be ended, even non-pregnant women might be reported as having had an abortion. Men might need to get a friend/relative to safety. 10/
An abortion might be $800 - know how to get it, plus money to travel;
Pretend you’re on a military mission - the fewer people who know, the better
Trust a friend with a small secret: “I fart if I eat raw onions” & don’t trust anyone who tells; they’ll treat a big secret worse 8/
@Braunger
I did clinic defense. If a white girl was with her white mother, protesters yelled "Don't do it! I'll adopt your baby!" If a white girl came with her black boyfriend, they yelled "Don't do it! Don't murder your baby!" Clear racism as well as sexism.
If you’re pro-life, ask why you want medical care decided & limited by politicians. Ask why you trust government to make decisions in all cases for all individuals under all circumstances. Assume that even laws you approve of can & will be turned against you & those you love. 17/
@TaraJFrank
Great thread if you want to go into speaking. I’d add: spend some time learning to speak. Join Toastmasters for basic skills and National Speakers Association to learn how to upswell additional workshops and coaching.
Even if you’re pro-life in a pro-life state: realize that Big Government will seize the power you grant and then go further. You want abortion banned? They’ll do that & take away your right to get a D&C after a miscarriage, then they’ll arrest anyone who miscarries. 15/
