Trump has fallen below 50% in the popular vote. His margin of victory (pop vote + electoral college) is the third smallest since 1888. (Only JFK in '60 and Nixon in '68 were smaller.) If 238k votes in the blue wall states had been different, he would have lost. Not a mandate.

This. I'm a full-time carer. I had to give up full-time work & go part-time. We DEPEND on the Local Council run day centres that my mum attends. We NEED them. They are under threat of closure. We will be at crisis point if they close as no respite. Fund social services.
@leicesterliz Carers who work depend on their relatives being otherwise cared for e.g. day centres (being closed due to council cuts or charities closing) or schools (many children can't get to school due to cuts in transport) So unless you improve local government support β¬οΈ waste of time

Fantastic National Trust podcast tells the story of the βBrown Babiesβ born to black GI fathers and white British mothers during WW2. Two of them retrace their history to being in care in an NT house in Exmouth. With β¦@DavidOlusogaβ©

@CrossCountryUK @GWRHelp Expect a refund form, obviously, but also is there somewhere I can detail the catalogue of frustration caused by your delay (that has happened to me BOTH TIMES I've travelled back from Swindon)? Surely this needs to be taken into account with compensation?

Please can someone tell Peter on @CrossCountryUK that I did get home eventually and that they helped keep me just about sane π

The plan according to @thetrainline: Swindon-Bristol Parkway-Manchester The Reality caused by @GWRHelp and a temporary @CrossCountryUK timetable: Swindon-Bristol Parkway- Birmingham-Stafford-Stockport- Manchester Finally home after five trains and one bus - what an unfunny joke
@GWRHelp For the second time, I am stuck outside Bristol Parkway on the 16.40 from Swindon which means I will miss the Manchester connection there - why is this put as an option on @thetrainline when this train is ALWAYS more than 7 minutes late???

@GWRHelp @CrossCountryUK @thetrainline I guess at least this time I didn't actually SEE the @CrossCountryUK one sailing away as the @GWRHelp train came in π Guess it's another refund form π€¬

So yet again, I'm stuck at Bristol Parkway for an extra 30mins, lost my seat reservation and have to change at Birmingham AND Crewe in order to get back to Manchester π€¬ @GWRHelp @CrossCountryUK @thetrainline

Itβs true members will vote on increasing our menu from 40% to 50% plant based. Itβs not true that we have secret recipes - that would be illegal. Weβve had no fierce backlash, and we will survive being called silly & attention-seeking by Jacob Rees-Mogg.

Amid efforts to reach Net Zero, the charity - which has 280 cafes across Britain - will vote on making their menus 50 per cent plant-based at their next annual general meeting.

When I called @Tim_Walz this morning to ask him to join our campaign, I shared my deep level of respect for him and the work we've done together. We're going to unify this country and we're going to win. Let's go get this done.

BREAKING: Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz will be the Democratic VP candidate, alongside Kamala Harris. Walz forged a reputation as a Governor who makes good policy happen. Last year he signed a law guaranteeing free breakfast and lunch for all Minnesota students. And that's not all π§΅

Guys! Three words. First. Gentleman. Doug. πππ
My fellow Democrats, I have decided not to accept the nomination and to focus all my energies on my duties as President for the remainder of my term. My very first decision as the party nominee in 2020 was to pick Kamala Harris as my Vice President. And itβs been the best
