1/n Fun journey continues: Our new @CellStemCell paper out on how the Inherent & Dormant Plasticity of mouse naive PSCs can be "Exaggerated" to Directly form ~E8.5 Transgene-Free (TF) Mouse SEMs & WITHOUT inducing 8-16-Morula-like "Embryo Founder Cells".

Hanna and colleagues show that signaling pathway modulation amplifies the inherent flexibility of genetically unmodified mouse naive PSCs to adopt extra-embryonic cell fate potential. This endows...

Truly one of the most exceptional scientists I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. Congratulations @JonathanBayerl on your O-1A! You're saving our declining fertility, one stem cell at a time. Proud to support you @lighthousehq_ 🇺🇸
O-1A visa approved! I am humble to be holder of the U.S. visa for people with extraordinary abilities in science😇😇 Thanks to @minney_cat @lighthousehq_ for their outstanding support and guidance in handling my application super swiftly and efficiently! I highly recommend them!

A new Naked Mole-Rat reference genome by @DSokolowski95 @wilson_md and co. I am glad to have contributed with @DJ_Laird to this wonderful piece of science of the unique NMR biology. This is just the start of an upcoming wave of NMR landmark papers including my own so stay tuned!
Definitely an exercise in delayed gratification. Naked mole-rats have emerged as a model organism due to their suite of unique traits. We built a reference-grade genome assembly and annotation for the NMR by integrating long-read genomics, epigenetics, and evolutionary genomics.

Our latest out today @Nature! We revisit a century-old theory and show that metabolic gradients work hand-in-hand with genetic&signalling instructions to shape the embryo. Glucose isn't just an energy source, it acts as a major conductor of the body plan🍬 https://t.co/mfx6Hk7nma

Cool work by @bulutkarslioglu & @NRivron showing diapuse like state can be induced in naive & intermediate naive-like (RseT), but not primed, human PSCs & in blastoids @CellCellPress mTOR activity paces human blastocyst stage developmental progression
cell.com
The timing of human blastoid post-implantation development can be paced down by inhibition of mTOR, which elicits a tissue-specific response similar to mouse in vivo diapause.
