Adding 30 million to our tax base annually means restoring library hours, reopening fire stations, more DPW and forestry workers, etc.
Urban freeways are generally a terrible use of land. This is a prime example. We can do much better.
"I will grant that opening 32.5 acres of prime downtown real estate would be an economic boon to someone, but it certainly won’t be you or me."
If it was affordable housing, green space, maybe a grocery store, it would benefit everyone. These are real options.

Personally, I think the air show should be canceled. It’s super loud, expensive, inescapable and disruptive. In my opinion the deficits significantly outweigh the benefits.
