Yesterday was my last working day @DerbyshireFRS after over 31 years and the last 5 1/2 as CFO. It’s been a fantastic journey and experience, an honour and privilege to have worked in the sector and Service, alongside @DerbysPolice @EMASNHSTrust and others. Will miss you all 🚒

Huge shout out to our amazing fire control operators who are dealing with an unprecedented number of 999 calls. We normally take about 100 calls; today we have taken over 1500 not counting calls taken on our behalf by colleagues in @LFRSFireControl & @LFBControlRoom #StormBabet

An absolute honour and privilege to meet Tom, who was also awarded the Légion d'honneur for his part in the D Day landings with @RoyalNavy before working in @WestMidsFire and @fire_scot then going on to be CFO of @DerbyshireFRS we owe so much to people like Tom 🙌 👏👍

A warm welcome and educational evening spent @FireWirksworth and with Chief Fire Officer @GavinGtomlins. Very proud of these on-call fire officers and all they do on top of the 'day job' to keep us safe and well. More on-call officers are needed in this and many other locations
