We received a call at 8.38pm this evening to reports of a helicopter crash near King Power Stadium. We sent a doctor, two paramedics in ambulance cars, a crewed ambulance and our Hazardous Area Response Team, with the first resource arriving within two minutes of the call (1/2).

We've been blown away by the #communityspirit across the East Midlands today. Farmers have used their tractors to pull our ambulances from snow drifts, passersby and businesses cleared the roads, offers of free meals and a huge donation from @Tesco for our 999 control room.

Thank you to the @HighwaysEMIDS gritter man who helped us help a woman in labour in Stamford. Baby born in the ambulance, but our vehicle became stuck. Lorry towed the ambulance up the hill we could get to Peterborough hospital where mum and baby could be checked over.#SnowHeroes.
