As part of the evacuation strategy from multi occupied buildings you should consider how people are notified of a fire. Whether your building has 2 businesses or more consider how the alarm is raised and what is the strategy for evacuation. #FireSafety @DerbyshireFRS

Following last night's fire in Valencia, our sympathies are with all those affected by the devastating fire. Our thoughts are with the firefighters and other emergency service workers as they continue to deal with the incident.

Means of raising the alarm in multi occupancy buildings is a priority when it comes to fire safety. Can you raise the alarm if needed from every unit? Check your #FireEvacuation strategy to confirm whether your alarm system meets with your requirements. @DerbyshireFRS

Office alarm testing is not just a legal requirement, but also an integral part of keeping your workplace safe. Make it a priority to conduct weekly tests to identify any potential issues and provide peace of mind to everyone in your building. #FireSafety @DerbyshireFRS

Fire safety for your business is still important during the busy #Christmas period. Please ensure that escape routes are kept clear of stock and that escape doors can be opened easily. @DerbyshireFRS

During the #christmas period you may have additional stock. You may hire temporary staff to help out. Some people are hosting parties which could mean extra customers around the premises. Now is a good time to review your Fire Risk Assessment. @DerbyshireFRS
