Formed by veterans in 1944, the RBL Central Band has spent 80 years making music in support of the Armed Forces. Helen has been part of the band for nearly 30 years. “Being in the band is incredibly special to me. I was one of the first four women in the band when I joined.”

@Nat_Mem_Arb Staged at the foot of the iconic Armed Forces Memorial, the day was hosted by actor Celia Imrie, and was attended by around 1500 guests as well as members of the public who watched from the public viewing area in the grounds of the Arboretum.

We’re deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Tom Jones, a WWII veteran, who died peacefully aged 103. Tom served in the Far East in 1942, in extremely tough conditions, before returning home to work as a bus and tanker driver. Our thoughts are with his loved ones.
