The fire in #Hounslow is now under control. A small part of the first floor remains alight. Crews will remain on scene into the morning and High Street will remain closed. More information -
Crews are working hard in #Hounslow. High Street is closed while the incident is ongoing. One of the Brigade's 32-metre turntable ladders is being used at the scene to help fight the fire from above.

We're pleased the Product Regulation & Metrology Bill has been granted Royal Assent. We see an e-bike/e-scooter fire every 2⃣ days and have been calling for regulation to improve safety on online marketplaces to protect consumers from dangerous products that pose a fire risk.
Tougher powers to make online marketplaces safer and protect the public from dangerous products as part of the Government’s Plan for Change, have moved a step closer following Royal Assent of the Product Regulation and Metrology Act. 🔗

We were called to this fire on Saturday in #Hanwell, which had been caused by the failure of an e-bike battery. Thankfully no one was hurt. Investigators found the bike had been overcharged and the incorrect charger was being used. #ChargeSafe⚡️.
