It's been 38 years since a fire in King's Cross St Pancras tube station killed 31 people and injured 100. It took 150 firefighters six hours to put out flames, which started under a wooden escalator and caused a flashover in the ticket hall. Our thoughts are with those affected.

Today we remember Sub Officer Adrian McGill from Glasgow Fire Service, who lost his life in 1972. Adrian tried to save a resident who was trapped in a top-floor flat on Maryhill Road by giving her his oxygen set. Our thoughts are with his family, friends and former colleagues.

On this day 57 years ago, we remember the 22 employees killed in a factory fire in Glasgow's James Watt Street. Around 100 firefighters from the Glasgow Fire Service attended the incident. Our thoughts are with all those affected by the fire.
