Very true from @billybinion. On trade, for instance, @JMilei sides with Adam Smith while Trump sides with Herbert Hoover.

When Javier Milei was running for President in 2023, I explained that the media was wrong to equate him to Trump. In American terms, Milei is a libertarian or Reaganite (or a “freedom conserv…
I continue to be baffled by this argument. Trump is a protectionist, old-school Democrat who spends like a drunken sailor. Milei believes in free trade, free markets, and has radically cut spending. They are, in many ways, complete opposites.

The Heritage Foundation is, as its erstwhile hero Milton Friedman would say, free to choose to go in this direction, and all of Heritage’s donors, supporters and allies are free to choose whether they still want to hold Heritage in high regard. https://t.co/RnjJTNT6TX

In 2023, @Heritage sponsored a group whose operations director wrote on his Substack, "Our faith, language, culture, traditions, race, works of art. In short our blood and soil is what produced America," as I've tried to warn everyone for two years: https://t.co/LfSmEAjrEH
Sign of the times: Heritage Foundation staffer: “Talking with some of the interns I think that there are a growing number of them who actually agree” with the views Fuentes espoused.

This is not an apology, at all. He doesn't take back anything he said. He doesn't criticize Tucker Carlson. He just says he was misunderstood while reiterating all the same nonsense about cancel culture, which is a total red herring.
Remarks from @KevinRobertsTX at a Monday night speech at Hillsdale College on antisemitism and cancel culture.

How bitterly ironic that @KevinRobertsTX champions @TuckerCarlson who traffics in the antisemitism @Heritage’s Project Esther sought to confront while Roberts decries as a “venomous coalition” those daring to speak out about the dangers posed by Tucker’s propaganda machine.

By enacting IEEPA, did Congress authorize the president to impose tariffs? If so does, is that delegation of authority lawful?

Don’t be ashamed of being part of the so-called ‘venomous coalition.’ It’s important to fight for what’s right, even if others label you as such. @AP4Liberty @AmericanFreedom

Heritage’s VP of Strategic Communications logged into the chat after *checks notes* over 72 hours. Does Heritage consider staff who criticize Tucker for saying he disdains Christian Zionists “more than anybody” while befriending a neo-Nazi part of the “venomous coalition”?
Online rumors about a recent meeting of the Heritage Board of Trustees are completely baseless. There has been no board meeting and 'sources' saying otherwise should not be taken seriously.

All the talk about Fuentes actually kind of misses the point, IMO -- a point that Hammer makes here. Why did Roberts feel compelled to make that ridiculous video defending Tucker in the first place? Why does Heritage/Roberts remain closely aligned with Tucker?
Kevin Roberts is a friend and a good man who, for various reasons, did a dumb thing and released a terrible video. Under Kevin’s leadership, the organization has done tremendous work combating anti-Semitism—among too many other things to count. The problem in this particular

When I signed this statement I was Director of the Simon Center at Heritage. I was berated by EVP Derrick Morgan and told to remove my name bc I had damaged Heritage’s credibility with the NatCons. I refused. Heritage leadership cancelled fusion conservatives, embraced Carlson.
. @KevinRobertsTX deemed this statement of conservative principles of @FreeConTalk so controversial, that @Heritage scholars were deterred from signing. Yet, he funneled hundreds of thousands of dollars to @TCNetwork to become an official partner of a man who spreads Putin,

Why is Mark Carney apologizing for truth?

Building on three videos I shared in 2018 (see here, here, and here), let’s look at another example of Ronald Reagan explaining the benefits of free trade. I’m sharing the above video b…
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney said he apologized to President Trump over a TV ad that aired in the U.S. with former president Ronald Reagan criticizing tariffs. Trump halted trade talks with Canada and raised tariffs over the ad.

An old political poison is growing on the new right, led by internet opportunists. It found an apologist in Kevin Roberts, a pyromaniac in a field of straw men, whose initial contribution to the Carlson-Fuentes ugliness was to join in the Jew-baiting. WSJ editorial:

This is just vacuous. Nuanced? Heritage is going to "redouble" efforts to "root out" bigotry? They've been subsidizing and defending the modern Father Coughlin. And when is Roberts going to explain why he 'nuanced' the claim that Christian Zionists and Israel supporters were
