Andrew Sullivan: “We all became used to soft-liberal bias on TV and newspapers for years like background music, and it didn’t delegitimize them entirely. We let it go. They kept up a veil of respectability, a wispy fig leaf of balance over their leftist privates. We sighed and

RESOLVED, that the Federal Communications Commission shall neither regulate nor influence the content broadcast on American airwaves. Introduce it today. Make it statute. Watch Democrats block it. It’s not about speech. It’s about *them* not controlling it.

This seems right to me. But if Carr hadn't said anything this would be Colbert all over again; an airtight culture war victory. It reminds me of Bondi/Patel stepping in it last week. https://t.co/lRY4pRsa9l

Kimmel is proof that, in many respects, the Right is winning the culture war. The FCC doesn't need to intervene.

You could argue Brendan Carr and the FCC are primarily responsible if ABC had yanked Kimmel immediately after Carr made his comments. But it's a lot harder to make that argument if ABC gave him a timeout after they went to talk things out and he said he was going to double down.

It’s kinda weird to call the proliferation of an insane conspiracy theory alleging that Israel murdered him a “high-stakes foreign policy debate”—as if that’s what Tucker and Candace and others are (or have been) doing. Yes, the chief concern is that it’s making them look bad;

JD Vance is right. The outbreak of the right’s venomous and high-stakes foreign policy debate in the midst of honoring Charlie Kirk’s legacy is making a lot of people look bad.

Charlie hasn't even been given a proper burial yet, but grifters are already lying to serve their evil ends. These reprobates threaten to implode MAGA—which no one did more to hold together than Charlie. It's a desecration of his memory. My column đŸ–‹ïž

And Israel had an enormous reserve of global sympathy that they squandered after October 7 by responding to mass murder, right? This is the same playbook, to a T. We had significant celebrations of Kirk's death the day it happened. Just like we had celebrations of 10/7.

In the wake of Charlie Kirk‘s assassination, Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) posted an Anti-Defamation League chart that purports to prove that right-wingers perpetrate the majority of politically motivated murders in the United States.

Ilhan Omar, Mehdi Hasan, and others have pointed to an ADL survey on political extremism to prove the right is more violence. The report is criminally misleading. https://t.co/kr97wYdXCU
