Yet another autistic girl dead, in a world where the NHS & councils make it clear they don't 'do' autism and have no will to do better. All we have are memories, a looming Inquest and have been abandoned by the 'services'.

My daughter's (Jessie Eastland-Seares) Inquest starts tomorrow in Brighton. Being held in a hotel, because there is not a coroner's court fit for purpose. Inappropriate and added stress for us. Still key documents not shared with the family, including the expert witness report.

I'm shocked that she was shocked - incompetent leadership if you are a 'MH leader' and have no idea of the basics! Patients, parents and carers have been highlighting this for years and also no Psychiatrists, Psychologists, OT, Doctors etc at weekends

Interesting to know how you actually get the 'services' to do that - we tried desperately for 6 whole years and my precious, amazing, daughter died a year ago today, aged 19, in a 'place of safety'!

Rachel Garrett, 22, died on 29 July 2020.
In the lead up to her death, her family fought to get her readmitted to a secure mental health ward. She had attempted suicide six times in a four-week period.
Now an inquest will open into her death.

Thank you. The EUPD label 'appeared' one day and she was really upset by this. She already had Autism, ADHD, cPTSD, dyspraxia, Sensory Processing & Ehlers Danlos diagnoses. We were told it could not be removed or challenged. Used to section her and try to get her into a PD unit.

Thanks Carrie. The parent blame was awful too. We are keen to keep campaigning and need to consider amplifying and not diluting, the voices of others - both the bereaved parents/carers, and those autistic people and their loved ones, who are still battling this broken 'system' xx

Just one tiny example of 'Care' in the NHS for someone (my child) in autistic meltdown and experiencing trauma. 'Jessie stop fighting or we'll take you to the fucking floor' 😪😪😪

Make no difference - my daughter's STOMP review was a joke and we never received a response. CeTRs are not worth the paper they are written on - they get hopes up and are ignored with no mechanism to get the 'suggested actions' carried out and no accountability!

Pre Inquest Review. My daughter died in a mental health unit in May last year. Autistic and neglected. Aged 19 😪😪😪 She also featured in an undercover Ticehurst Priory programme in 2018.

My diagnosed autistic, ADHD daughter, + physical needs including EDS, was slapped an EUPD 'diagnosis' in her notes as an abuse of the MH system, to get the LA off the hook and try to move her from an acute MH setting to a PD Unit, like the one featured in recent exposure progs

Very common. The upset they caused to my late daughter, taking no care with her precious things,when they were all she had, having lost her liberty . Mill View hospital even managed to lose her wheelchair! 😪😪😪
Sadly this does not suprise me they always mixed paitents belongings including my own and you never seen it again or they would mix food with dirty used sanitary products etc

The anguish this has caused us. I was providing the exact same care but as I was Jessie's Mum thr cares saw it as 'my job'. The risk was not just seizures. It was self harm and mobility. Also her weight doubled in a couple of years.

Also there was the 2018 Ticehurst Priory ITV Exposure programme my daughter featured in. It's like it was never seen by anyone as it is rarely mentioned, but it contained the same sort of footage and dangerous 'care'.

We don't need another Inquiry - we all know that the system is completely broken and people are dying as a result. We need compassionate, professional trained staff, effective community housing support, meaningful lives and effective provision. Too late for my daughter!

Sadly this experience is common and has been going on for years. Saw it with my late father and again with my late daughter. There are some cruel people parading as 'carers'
My husband died yesterday in an NHS hospital. Altho terminal w cancer, the 'care' this past week was shambolic neglect, devoid of compassion
No one should die like that

We thought that at last we would get some actual help, when our a daughter was first sectioned at 14. How wrong we were! We trusted the NHS and they failed her miserably!
