My very first publication ‼️🎉🕺🔥 (infinite thanks to @tinaliu_phd @gavinjknott for allowing me to contribute to this incredible effort !!)
Sharing our team’s paper, now live @nchembio! By combining two unrelated CRISPR nucleases in tandem, we've built a fast, sensitive, one-step assay for RNA detection that could be adapted for use in rapid, point-of-care diagnostic testing.

https://t.co/lFJ3QYiPgS We look forward to working with our scientific colleagues to optimize and expand the application potential and scenarios of HYER, a new nucleic acid manipulation platform. RNA is amazing!

Here’s some vids from probably favorite memory in the park: my wife, Yula, and I DJing some funk music for a protect the park event a couple years ago.

I also think about the birds that call the trees in the park home too. I remember going to there after the last time this happened. It was silent where there used to be birds chirping everywhere. Truly eerie and a microcosm of what we are doing to this planet (6/)

I woke up to these texts on my phone and I just needed to say how important this place has been in my life and what it’s meant to me. When I think of peoples park I think of memories with friends there and of the feeling of community in the park in an ever more isolated world.

What I learned that made me the most upset while participating in the protection of this space was that the UC owns several unused parking garages in southside Berkeley that could instead be used for the housing project. Why destroy this important cultural landmark instead? (4/)

I love the university and worked there for many years but it truly breaks my heart to see them pay to have tons of cops pull up in the middle of the night with tactical gear literally pointed at unarmed unhoused folks and surround the park with shipping containers. (3/)

I remember having family friends in town back in high school and heading there for some kind of music festival and having such a fun time. My memories of this space are about the community that built it and it’s resilience in the face of massive shows of force by the UC. (2/)

The news from people’s park this morning truly makes me so sad. I remember going to community events here since I was a kid. The park is one of the only open green spaces in the south side of berkeley and was literally designated as a historic landmark by the city in 1984. (1/)

.@US_FDA approved two #genetherapies, #Casgevy and #Lyfgenia, to treat #sicklecell disease (#SCD) in patients 12 years & older. These are the first GTs approved for SCD in the U.S., & Casgevy is the first approved therapy in the U.S. using #CRISPR. https://t.co/Oz3bDUY3iF
