@seannymo
tonight, some stuff from my second MCR show: June 26th, 2003 at the old Knitting Factory downtown, the day I graduated middle school.

I thought these were lost to time, but two never before seen photos for you: December 14th, 2003 at Irving Plaza, with MCR opening for Mindless Self Indulgence.
New "The Little Bastard" piece on my leg. 💉🎨
Adored this logo 20 years ago and still do—from MCR's site, to the shirt, to a printout on my high school agenda and beyond. So stoked on this.
Art by Johan Castillo () during a guest spot at Inknation NYC.

Didn't have to scan these, so here's a folder of 4/12/04 at The Downtown in Farmingdale, NY:
🦇 Alexisonfire, Nora, MCR, with Avenged Sevenfold headlining.
🦇 A bunch of footage from this show is in the original "I'm Not Okay" video.
@ArtButSports
@ArizonaMBB
Your skill to match the photo with art is obviously legendary but your commitment to proper attribution is a lost art as well.
Very easily one of, if not the most important album of my life. Those shows from 2002 to 2004...just absolutely manic magic.
Disposable camera shot from a 2003 show at The Downtown for tax.
@The_MCR_Archive
Found a folder full of old photos on my computer—some my own that I've sent before, some others professionally shot.
-Bear suit Reggie and the Full Effect tour (Summer 2003)
-Gerard and Frank - Skate Fest (9/15/2002)
-Mikey and Gerard - RexPlex in NJ (8/3/2002)

More notes:
🦇 90% sure I have more photos from this show but I need to find them. Or rescan to higher-res.
🦇 Thought they played all of Bullets. says otherwise.
🦇 Here's a photo of the MCR message boardie meetup at the show. So 2003.
This is Jacob, he’s a “comfort dog” whose been to Las Vegas, Orlando and now Parkland to comfort victims of mass shootings. 8-10 other golden retriever comfort dogs are on the way, per Mike Flaherty of Lutheran Church Charities. Jacob’s harness says “Please pet me.”

Additional details:
🦇 Boys Night Out didn’t play due to issues at the Canadian border.
🦇 The blacked out writing is Ray’s AIM screen name, ha.
🦇 99% sure this is the show where Sister To Sleep was soundchecked and it’s the recording that circulates.
Problematic or not, I really don't understand what's productive or useful about erasing one of the scene's most consequential and influential albums from its history (Deja Entendu).

Not really comparable when a political candidate shatters ~220 years of precedent for the peaceful transfer of power? Close though.
@JWesterbyHSB
They had so many great shows at The Downtown: opening for Coheed during Second Stage, opening for Avenged Sevenfold, Three Cheers release show (where they filmed original I'm Not Okay video)...have lots of photos.
Tailoring bustouts, setlists, outfits, etc. to each city/date/occasion is THE most massive breath of fresh air this scene has ever had for consideration of environment and respect for your paying audience.
Instantly a legendary, consequential tour in the history of these genres.

, or 15 years since I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. I'm thankful for every day and year I've fought to live since.
I dream of a cure, but also the day that the executives of Eli Lilly, Sanofi, & Novo Nordisk are tried at The Hague.

Seeing them play "Vampires" for 15 people in 2003 as if it were the last show on earth, then seeing that energy magnified in an arena with people singing the song that weren't even born yet when it was released.
Palm of their hand crowd control. Dizzying, spiritual. Grateful.
I'm lacking the words to describe the absolute euphoria of this show.
One of the best sets of music I've seen and meaningful to me on such a deep, cosmic, decades-long level that stretches back to those tiny, sweaty rooms in the early 2000's when the music was all that mattered.
If the super old Grand Ballroom floor doesn’t still wobble and make you feel like it might collapse during a good show, I don’t want it! (Jk, welcome back)
A while back I struggled with insurance that raised prices/limited coverage on diabetes supplies. A total stranger/mother of a Colorado

The cool thing about living with a relentless (and invisible) chronic disease is that it's not enough for Type 1 Diabetes to rob you of your mental and physical wellbeing...America decided it needed to artificially reach in your pocket to rob you financially too.
#insulin4all
Diabetes has become the most expensive disease in the United States, costing patients $15 billion per year. Faced with this insulin pricing crisis, a group of biohackers were forced into finding a solution themselves: create the medicine on their own.
@The_MCR_Archive
Took a look and yep, I’m basically positive that’s correct. Check the top right stub in the first photo. Enjoy the old stubs, the prices are hysterical.

I saw MCR ~15 times in that 2002-2004 era, once in front of about 20 people. The energy they played this material with is still some of the most magic live music I've ever seen. Once that "Honey" riff opens the show, all hell would break loose.
Happy 126th birthday to Frederick Banting. Without insulin I’d be dead.
It’s an unspeakable tragedy that his life-saving discovery has been exploited by American corporations for profit on the backs of the sick who need it to live.

If you're having diarrhea in a public toilet & U hear someone come in, you gotta mutter things like "this is fuuuucked" under your breath after every squirt so they don't think that having diarrhea is normal for you
