Much more should be made of this clear double standard..
“Finance expert Kieran Maguire has claimed that the Premier League have not treated Tottenham and Everton equally with regard to their interest costs and new stadiums.”
An incredible amount of time , effort and covert planning went into the European Super League project.
Which club was the cheerleader condemning it?
Which club is now the subject of a vendetta?
Who is pulling Richard Masters strings?
@TonyEvans92a
These events events affected mums, dads, brothers, sisters,and friends many who couldn’t care less about football. They devastated lives. I’m an Everton fan who lost a good friend at Hillsborough. Fans should please stop and think.
@fesshole
You’ll fall out , he will change the locks and ignore all contact with you . He will stay in the house and you’ll not be able to sell it as he will have rights. The legal route to remedy it may leave you even more out of pocket. I’ve seen the scenario first hand.
@EvertonViews
I’m going for all ten points back .
An acceptance of our mitigation.
Admission they abused the process.
An apology.
Resignation of Masters.
@ALANMYERSMEDIA
Two deductions in one season is disgusting. 8 points in one season is almost equivalent to administration.
They are trying their hardest to relegate us.
@TheAthleticFC
@Dan_Sheldon_
@jwhitey98
The Ukraine war making his job more difficult?
Apparently Everton should have foresaw it , and was unfairly rejected as a mitigation. 🤷🏽♂️
@Bill_Esterson
Bill , they advised the commissions to deduct 12 points for the first , then 5 points for the second.
17 points in one season they wanted deducted.
It doesn’t look like a vendetta……it is one.
@EFCdaily_
Luton weren’t even in the league at the time of the transgression and are luckily benefiting from Everton’s and Forest’s points deduction.
He’s shamelessly jumping on a self-serving bandwagon.
@theesk
With all this swirling shit show still going on it’s a miracle that Sean Dyche and the players got the points in the bag this season . I still can’t believe they managed to do it. It’s now imperative that this takeover business is sorted out before next season.
@AndyBurnhamGM
@Everton
@premierleague
PL knew the existential threat of relegation to the club ✅
An 8 point deduction would have seen us relegated the last two seasons.✅
PL wanted a 17 point deduction ✅
Mitigation ignored in first case ridiculed by second panel✅
PL were out to destroy Everton Football Club✅
@joe_thomas18
Joe , really want to read , but the Echo website is unreadable… never loads , millions of pop ups, crashes the iPad. Been impossible to read for far too long.
The directors there should be aware…. No good having ads if nobody can read them!
@MeDoyle88
Ornstein leaks it Tomorrow 4 points returned , 2nd charge voided due to accepted mitigation as delivered by Mr Rabinowitz KC.
Thursday - above is officially announced .
Friday - 777 rejected .
Monday - 3 points against Palace.
Tuesday- White Knight owner .
@rogerefc
@henrywinter
@joe_thomas18
Worse still …the PL tried to enhance the punishment (an unprecedented 10 points deduction) on the existing rules they’re now saying are unfit for purpose!
Work that out ….all roads lead to an agenda against EFC to avoid independent regulation.
@Lea_EFC
It’s good news , we are more likely to get some or even all points back.
Our KC has exposed their procedural failures and now the PL are scrambling for an outcome that saves face .
Well ….that’s my guess anyway
@AndyBurnhamGM
@premierleague
@Everton
19.5m , acted in good faith , 10 points down
35.5m , deliberate breach , but cooperated in a timely fashion . 4 points down.
Where’s the consistency here ? It’s a shambles.
@AndyBurnhamGM
@premierleague
@Everton
Wanting 17 points deducted in one season then hearing the commission comments;
“the criticisms levelled against the club in this respect by the PL are unwarranted, overstated, or both.”
Tells you there is a targeted vendetta , and I don’t think it’s just about the regulator.
@theesk
Media & Alan Myers said (as expected) it was from 777
Paul you’re saying “ (i) Everton received some funding to meet our monthly obligations but not from the source quoted extensively in the media”
So we’ve now got a mystery funder? Who?
The plot thickens.
@Everton_Extra
Doucoure deeper encouraged a bit more freedom for McNeil and Harrison , utilising Doucoure’s athleticism better . The team was quite resilient for it yesterday. Big thing for Wednesday is the RB choice. Young too risky, alternatives risky too.
@thegazza_
Gazza, you brought joy to the game , there’s not many players who are loved by all fans ……but you are one of them. 👍💙. Wishing you the best.
@theesk
Survey today by Grand Old Team with appx. 5000 respondents showed a massive 88% of Evertonians did not want 777.
I fear there will soon be more unrest and instability if they somehow get approval. Desperate times for the club.
@CitizenSuburbia
It’s definitely worth appealing, even if we are safe the extra points could be worth Potentially £6m.
Also, we should appeal that losing points is a double punishment on the first charge . Prize money lost is an additional punishment, seemingly not acknowledged as yet.
@EFCdaily_
It’s causing anxiety for fans and the players . It feels like a dark cloud cloaked over the whole club.
Even worse than this is that they are still asking questions of 777’s financial stability ….after five months.
Is that not a massive red flag in itself!
@theesk
It’s shocking incompetence throughout the boardroom. Moshiri putting all his eggs in the Kenwright basket was catastrophic. It should have been a watershed moment. All the directors are culpable, all too cowardly to speak up in order to protect their gravy train.
Shameless.
So Talksport saying the PL wanted a 5 point deduction, and they advised a 12 point deduction for the first breach.
So they wanted 17 points deducted in one season !
Richard Masters and whoever is pulling his strings was / is out to destroy Everton Football Club.
@KieranMaguire
@martynziegler
What defines a “major spending breach” ?
Shall we say anything more than £20m ?
So in that case Everton (19.5m) would escape with a fine , whilst Forest (34.5m) still get a points deduction.
The point is that it’s wide open to inconsistency and possibly corruption.
@theesk
Is this again to protect the PL from any legal challenge?
Basically batting the legal ball back to 777 saying if there are no satisfactory answers ..it’s on you, or Moshiri, to walk away .
Their legal advice is to never reject , just offer conditional approval.
On it goes.
@theesk
@premierleague
Good work Paul, researching and reporting the hard facts is essential. Same kudos to Paul Brown , Phillipe Auclair. How can anyone have an opinion without them?
Points deductions are bad enough, but financially unstable owners will have long term repercussions and maybe worse.
The 777 rumours seem to have emanated from here , so as good as they sound , I’d take them with a pinch of salt. Especially as our second hearing is reported to start on Monday.
@Forest_No_22
Hilarious post , there’s 53000 seats surrounding a football pitch , they all have a clear view…..All interiors will be similar !
The stadium is stunning , world class , come and see for yourself. You’ll love it,
@ShaySweeney1962
£600,000 per WEEK in interest….to just ONE of our creditors . William Kenwright stopped at nothing to keep himself as chairman.
The multiple debts at extraordinary interest rates are going to sink the club unless ownership is sorted very soon and debt restructuring happens.
@scousericey
The delay is now having its own effects, it’s like a further punishment. It’s harming results , the way the team is set up , the players mentality has changed.
There’s so many repercussions for this unjust punishment because of a stadium interest issue.
@theesk
@hellierd
“The club isn’t currently seeking rival bids because it is bound by an agreement with 777, though the situation could change.” 👀
It’s been eight months Farhad, change the situation!
Talk to buyers who CAN meet the conditions, we are told by The Times and others, they exist.
@SoundDave1981
💯 % … no way this lad can be sold on the cheap. I’d love some well funded owners to come in and for us to build a team around him going into the BMD.
@CBobblers1878
777 are the ones who want sacking ….leave the manager alone , he’s trying to keep us in the league .
This subject needs discussing after we have achieved safety.
If this is a true leak it is disappearing unhelpful and ill considered .
@EvertonNewsFeed
@footyinsider247
I’d rather have an owner who could invest in the team . There’s a million red flags surrounding 777 .
Not least least being that after seven months they have not been able to meet the financial conditions.
What does that tell you?
@EFCdaily_
@business
Loans to 777 to loan to Everton …At what interest rates do these people loan at?… Moshiri has to sort this mess out quickly, it can’t go on.
@joe_thomas18
@_DavePowell
Apparently we’ve got enough cash until the end of summer , so we need action on the takeover right now to avoid it.
Time is running out , Moshiri has to immediately ditch 777 and to talk to investors who can meet the PL financial conditions.
@Everton_Extra
Love Gana , he’s an honest professional. Even when he was left out , he said “no worries boss , I’m here and ready when you need me” .
He’s one player who I hope is retained for next season , he’s getting older but still covers the ground and is a big plus for the squad.
@sophefc2023
Moshiri should now be making a deal with buyers who CAN meet the conditions.
If this means reducing his asking price , then so be it.
Moshiri should suffer, not EFC.
Seven months hanging on to investors who STILL cannot satisfy the financial conditions is killing us.
@AndyBurnhamGM
@premierleague
@Everton
Andy there is power game going on at the moment. They know a regulator is coming, what’s important to them now is lobbying and influencing the power given to that regulator. Worryingly it sounds like Rick Parry has been briefing Sunak’s Head of Staff. Keep tabs on it if you can.
@AbsoluteEverton
Our KC has said emphatically some of our mitigation is real and would stand up in any court.
Some of the PLs counter arguments like we should have foreseen the Russian invasion of Ukraine is plainly ridiculous. Just accepting this one mitigation would be massive. A ten pointer.
@theesk
If 777 can’t meet these conditions after over 6 months still refuse to walk away , then Mr Moshiri has to pull the plug and talk to investors who can meet the conditions.
The delay is massively damaging the club , we need some stability, strategy before the 24/25 season starts.
@mikeygow
@Everton
I think that’s right Mike .
I’m in the ten points back , 2nd charge dropped and Masters resignation camp.
And Mr Rabinowitz KC has done an exemplary job.
@PhilippeAuclair
@opusdeath
@Eurosport_FR
@RedStarFC
@StandardLive
The team at Josimar have been invaluable in getting facts on the takeover . Thank you.
Can you expand in any way with regards to another bid now being considered.
It’s huge news to Evertonians if true , as getting the right owners will be essential to our recovery.
@pbsportswriter
So Forest were 55% over their limit ….
……..and Everton were 18% over their limit
We got 10 points deduction reduced on appeal
Forest got 4 points , possibly reduced on appeal.
Make it make sense..🤷🏽♂️
@EFCdaily_
@business
Whatever next ? They want to buy us by lending money using future sales of Branthwaite and Onana as collateral ?
This is becoming totally ridiculous. If they can’t afford to buy us they should go away.
Dyche will not be sacked .
1. With the stolen six points we would be 13th, 2 wins from safety with 11 to play. On a shoestring budget.
2. We cannot afford to sack him.
Is 1 win in 14 acceptable? No .
No choice but to back him …and review May 20th.
Keith Wyness comment today
“Two major American sporting groups have been linked so far.“
“But again, I think it would be difficult to see how they can really engage with Everton at the moment while 777 still have this exclusive agreement in place.“
@MartinSLewis
@bbc5live
Hi Martin , I’m deaf so struggle with podcasts . I know someone who used AI to create a transcript of their pod . I was impressed by how good it was .
Just a thought that you may be kind enough to consider.
Many thanks.
@officialgtfc
They seem to be rushing this through before the regulator is appointed.
Whilst the bill is progressing though parliament there should be a moratorium on any significant changes.
@Lea_EFC
Really hope that he gets some backing to get in a fast, quality winger and tenacious, creative No.10 .
Biggest thing of the summer is keeping hold of Branthwaite, we can’t let him go , the partnership with Tarks is on of the best in the league.
@scousericey
If we had a decent no10 and some pace out wide , we would not be far off challenging for the lower European spots , top half for sure.
This creativity to break down teams at home is what we are crying out for.
@Byrdsman75
I remember watching him for the u21s when he first came , he stood out straight away . Same traits as now , always in control , always reading the game . He takes every step up in his stride . Tarks has been very positive for him too…the perfect CB partner.
@RichardBuxton_
The contract was willingly signed with Mr Kenwright’s consent. The debt impact of him selfishly wanting to remain in power at any cost will continue to be felt for many years.
@Lea_EFC
Dyche needs to shake it up, why not try the Portuguese connection up front . Something might click .
One thing is for sure we can’t have many more shocking performances like at Bournemouth, we offered nothing in an attacking sense.
@John_B58
@OliverKay
It’s who can be more creative with the accounts and manipulate loopholes . All within the current rules .
Looks like Everton and Moshiri missed the opportunity to comply using this loophole too . It’s cost us 8 points .
So the two clubs who have failed P&S rules are helping ordinary working people be able to afford to go to the game.
If only they’d ripped them off to the maximum 🤷🏽♂️
@joe_thomas18
This has the hallmarks of a back room deal job to me Joe. There’s no other explanation .
4 point deduction agreed by both sides, no appeal, move on .
*We will find out if this is right if Forest decide not to appeal.
