Michael Jordan laces an RBI double down the line at Wrigley Field with Harry Caray on the call. Let’s all take a quick moment today to appreciate that this was a real thing that actually happened. https://t.co/ehCWGydXIu

Ahead of the @WBCBaseball, I put together a map of where every @MLB player was born from 1832–2005. Pretty cool to watch and see how the the game has grown 🌎⚾️

What's next for the Cubs this offseason after trading for RHP Edward Cabrera? “The one free agent bat that they remain linked to: Alex Bregman.” - @jonmorosi

Where this loses momentum is that the #Marlins wanted both Matt Shaw and Cade Horton at the deadline.
“have you stopped to consider it was more expensive in july?” yeah no shit! that’s the game! have you stopped to consider they had a chance to win a world series and balked at moving caissie in that real moment just to move him anyway?!

Looks like Wicks is working on a new curveball with more depth
"It's strike to ball. It's late!" Cubs lefty Jordan Wicks has been working on dialing in a new curveball this offseason. 🔨 @jordan_wicks99 only threw the pitch 1% of the time in the big leagues in 2025. 📈 Coach: @TurnerGivens

Salute to Ken 🫡 He’s not wrong. Part of why trading for Edward Cabrera was so enticing is that it leaves the #Cubs with payroll space to add a bat.

Edward Cabrera (acquired by CHC) is a dynamic righty who took large strides with his command in 2025. He posted a 3.53 ERA and 3.83 FIP across 137.2 IP His arsenal is headlined by a mid 90s changeup and a hard two-plane curveball which carried his production last season

Edward Cabrera throws this changeup harder than every Cubs starter other than Horton throws their fastball.

I liked Owen Caissie. This just means the Cubs have strengthened one part of their team but lost some potential production in another part. There's an opening for a bat now for sure. Will discuss coming up on MLB Network. Tune in!

So this trade SEEMS to be: Caissie + two guys in the 11-20 range. If that is in fact the case, great job by Jed to get this kind of upside in the rotation at a relatively minimal cost. Also, I believe a price SIGNIFICANTLY below the deadline ask (though no EC for playoff run)
