One of the athletes I work with Sam has been diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma - a rare and aggressive type of cancer. We are raising funds to help her family manage during this incredibly difficult period. Please donate or share Sam’s story. #samstrong

A lot of these red pill bros will REFUSE to observe someone’s pronouns but will correct you QUICK if you don’t refer to Twitter as “X”, and I just find that so fascinating. 😂

Why do so many male-strength coaches only link hard physical exercise to mental toughness… as if there aren't multiple factors which contribute mental and emotional resilience? Hmm, it’s almost like they've never gone to therapy🌝. But don’t let me hold you. Rep it out Bro.

sports, including times athletes suffer concussions & don’t report/ get treatment for it… Are the calls to retire smart? Have we started to take athlete long-term health more seriously? What example does this set for young athletes watching?

Interested to hear other coaches weigh in on Tagovailoa being urged to retire after his 3rd (reported) concussion in his career. With what we know about brain injuries/long term damage, including CTE and the prevalence of concussions in both contact and non contact 👇🏾

is the athletes, we are doing a great disservice to those athletes by not properly communicating training frequency, injuries and other information meant to keep these kids safe. But a lot of y’all aren’t doing it for the kids anymore and that’s apparent.😐

Travel / AAU coaches/ Trainers/ S+Cs should be responsible for keeping open lines of communication between themselves and their athletes’ HS sport coaches when that athlete is in season, even if for another sport. If the priority …👇🏽(con’t)…

And ALL S+C programs should cover and cater to a variety of movement planes, patterns and energy system requirements. Because life also exists outside of sport - especially at the HS level.

Reminder that it’s more important that the strength and conditioning workouts actually get your athletes stronger and better conditioned rather than be “sport specific”. Not much transfers over to sport better than enhanced strength/ power/ aerobic capacity. 👇🏾

This is exactly what @Mr_davisj was talking about yesterday. The lack of diversity & representation in pro athletics/S+C is still a big problem. Imagine being a young woman of color in attendance and not seeing ONE panelist that looks like you.Representation matters.@SynergySPGB

There’s no scenario where I give you workouts to do on your own with your friends, unsupervised. That’s lazy AND a liability. So if you have a coach doing this for your kid/ athlete-just know it’s a 🚩.

One thing I won’t do as a strength specialist is offer my HS athletes “workouts” to do on their own. 2 options: •Work w me in person (individually or group setting). •Work w me as a hybrid athlete where we meet in person AND you do remote prescribed workouts I monitor.

One of the worst feelings as a coach is when an athlete facing something absolutely devastating, and you can’t “coach” it better. You just have to hold space. And it’s hard when you’re used to being there to “help fix” things. Don’t need advice. Just needed to get it out. ❤️

Lot of jibber-jabber from new fans to the WNBA/Women’s sports in general. I encourage you to keep your 👀 on what's important, and not get distracted. There are many great women who have been, & continue to break records, dominating on+off the court. They deserve your attention.

Training Considerations as the Weather Changes: 1. Pre/adequate hydration is key.Make sure you are meeting hydration guidelines. Don’t forget about those electrolytes either! If you are an athlete that plays outdoors/ sweats a lot we want to be sure to replace what we’ve lost.
