I was on my walk now enjoying sunshine when 8 teenagers on bicycles decided to monkey chant me as they cycled past. They almost certainly would never have done that if they were my students. They probably thought it was bit of a laugh. Racism certainly is not a bit of a laugh.

@IAmJermainDefoe In a primary school match, it was my job to man mark a striker. I didn't do very well. He scored 5 goals in the 1st half & their teacher subbed him off as an act of mercy. This boy ended up at same secondary school as me. His name was. Jermaine Defoe. Enjoy retirement fella!.

I was walking down East Ham high street & saw an elderly lady struggling with her shopping trolley. I helped her roll the trolley home - 45 mins detour for me. But I learnt about history of Trinidad (where Jean grew up in 1940s) and all about her grandson who's excited to be 4!.

Walking with 3 family members & a baby, 3 teenage boys made aggressive wretching/vomiting sounds to us. They were looking for a response but we ignored. We reported it to police. As a teacher who believes in youth, it's a sad state where these young minds have been poisoned.
