If you argue that moral standards should depend on an individual's/group's power, you're effectively arguing that we should empower those who are less moral.

DOGE's underlying goal wasn't to reduce spending or to improve the deficit/debt situation. It was to undercut left-wing bureaucratic control over a broad set of policy arms. It was an ideological effort.

I don't think this characterization is accurate, but we also need to be honest about just how much more satirical material Trump provides. A show that devoted similar attention to Obama and Trump would be shooting itself in the foot comedically.

Actually, no--this isn't how it works. Racism isn't some unique sin that serves as a defining trait and erases all other virtues/shortcomings of a given person. This was a bad thing, and the rest of Hogan's existence nonetheless remains.

Hardly anyone views himself as a supervillian. Hitler thought he was a force for good, as did many of his followers. Communists don't get excused for millions of deaths and undermining civilization because they hold some vague notion of "good intentions".
Seriously though, it's because even if you think communism is childish or idealistic, they want everyone's needs met and for no one to be poor. Fascists want to oppress and kill people. It's bad in terms of outcome AND in terms of intent.

With that said, I appreciate that he's honest about the situation and disagrees simply by invoking alternative moral principles. I consider this to be infinitely better than getting the facts on the ground wrong (intentionally or unintentionally).

This analogy is terrible. Car crashes are accepted in return for massive quality of life improvements. "retaining their humanity" is a vague deontological concept, and I doubt most Israelis/people see it as a large payoff (or any) relative to the costs of living under persistent
I just want Israel to tolerate rocket attacks like car crashes. We tolerate them to get to work on time; Israel must tolerate them to retain their humanity.

Why do so many utilitarians promote comically naive forms of utilitarianism? (The answer is probably dispositional/ideological selection.) Externalities exist, and the answer to this question very obviously depends on which human it is, even if you're uncomfortable admitting it.
You should save 10^100 shrimp instead of one human, because 10^100 is a very big number. If you are 99.9999999999999% sure that shrimp feel 0 pain, and .00000000000001% sure that shrimp feel a 1/10000000th the pain humans do, this would still be an easy decision.

This is a general societal lesson--a relatively small set of people can exert massively negative social externalities if no one stands up to them.
The young women today who are upset that men don’t approach them aren’t the same women who decided any approach was harassment in 2015. We don’t all attend an annual bitch conference.
