The time has come for my 91 year old Nan to move in to a home 😔 The same house for 70 years! This avocado bathroom though - still immaculate after all this time! The generation of 'make do'. 👌🏼

The space of #Obesity is now lined up with a slew of medications on their way The #NHS has a decision to make Prioritise it, fund primary care properly, plan roll out Or accept that this isn’t a priority and people have to depend on self funding Leadership- be honest.

I work from home, the wife commutes. Not a plan, life just worked out that way. So I do most of the housework and childcare. I'm a housewife basically, And yes, it's the hardest work I've ever done. It's the emotional toil of the sheer repetitive drudgery that does you in.

the best thing a therapist ever told me is “you’re not lazy, you only have a certain amount of energy and right now you’re using it all to survive” and i know someone else needs to hear that too

I hope so. Somewhere someone remembers that. I don’t mind that they don’t remember my name… that’s not important. Presence and kindness are more important.

A patient somewhere still remembers you because you were present and kind in a difficult, vulnerable moment when no one else was.

If someone has an acute illness: They rest. Have time off work. Given empathy. If someone has a chronic condition: They're called lazy. Called scroungers. People think it's less severe. Truth is, a chronic condition is often just an "acute" one that doesn't end.

Please don't tell a chronically ill person that it could be worse. We may not have it as bad as someone else but that doesn't invalidate what we go through. Don't let someone who doesn't know what it’s like to be in your shoes tell you the degree of your problems.
