What a loss. Afzal's understanding and enabling of teacher as researcher put teachers as knowledge creators, not mere imparters. LAMP & RAMP were periods of teacher empowerment. And, with a huge consequential impact on pupils becoming mathematicians. Kwaheri rafiki yangu.
It is with great sadness that I pass on that emeritus Prof Afzal Ahmed, died on 6 March. His legacy is in thousands of teachers/advisers he taught... and, of course the belief that mathematics can always be "Better"! @ATMMathematics @IMAmaths @Mathematical_A @BSRLM_maths
