@marksandspencer bought a cheese twist this morning @StPancrasInt at 1116. Shelf label says £1.50. Checkout price £1.70. Store manager arranged refund of 20p and removed label from shelf. I returned at 1353 and store manager has reinstated label. Still showing wrong price!

England’s Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study 2023 results, with an international comparison of performance of pupils in years 5 and 9.
Good results for England on TIMSS. Maybe this allows us to focus on challenges: - maths GCSE resits - KS3 geometry, keep maths more diverse than algebra+stats - liking maths (so students continue with it), see grades 4+8, and valuing maths grade 8 TIMSS 2023

@Se_Railway most mornings the 0801 from FKW to St P is like this once it leaves Ashford. A fault on the 0801 meant Ashford people finally got first dibs of seats on replacement unit. £50 to sit on the floor of the most prestigious piece of railway infra structure. 1/2

Some depressing results from the Maths Horizon project https://t.co/8O3iNmTrlu Teachers think fewer than half of their students can reason mathematically. Half of eyfs/KS1 students enjoy maths and are curious but this drops to around 15% at secondary according to TeacherTapp.
