We had a great time discussion different rollup mental models and brainstorming about novel use-cases. We also went over web2 UX and what web3 apps can learn from it 🚀
So many giga-brains under one roof! 🧠💥
We recently hosted the first of many Micro-Brunches in Bangalore, and the energy was too good to be kept secret 👀
What came together was a tasty mixture of amazing discussion, alpha drops and just immaculate vibes 😋
When you think about decentralisation as a spectrum and not an on-off switch — the design space for apps prioritising users over absolutism explodes!
This is how we're thinking about 'hybrid apps'📲

⬫ Product vision and roadmap
Through this lens, any state machine that computes over an on-chain input array can be considered a rollup.
Rollups are not limited to the EVM, SVM, Move VM, or any crypto-native VMs!
Stackr makes it easy to create efficient, logic-specific state machines.
5/ the FOURTH!!! Stackr Hackerhouse team built "CrypticCloak"
"A Stealth Address-based privacy enabling micro rollup for all EVM blockchains"
@Arcsh7
@0xdhruva
You can think of micro-rollups similar to micro-services - one design philosophy that web2 got very right.
Monoliths ➡️ micro-services
VMs ➡️ containers
Regular rollups ➡️ micro-rollups
Today, decentralized app development is constrained to a niche subset of crypto-natives.
Our goal is to make it accessible for all - to break down the barriers between web2 and web3 by making it easy to build and operate rollups.
MRUs address the drawbacks of current rollup design and are high-speed, efficient, and customizable execution units.
Stackr SDK offers an intuitively structured environment, simplifying the development of these systems from the ground up.

2/4 🔍 Micro Quark not only won the Polygon ZK 1st prize but also bagged the 2nd prize for the best project built with AvailDA — it's a proof verification and aggregation co-processor.
1️⃣ App-specificity
The
@ethereum
ecosystem has recognized the value of app-specific blockspace. Meanwhile, the
@cosmos
ecosystem has recognized the value of shared security.
App-specific rollups realize the best of both worlds and are quickly gaining mindshare.
3️⃣ Web2 programming languages
We believe that to truly make decentralized app development widely accessible, we must meet developers where they are.
Python, JavaScript, Go, C, etc. Stackr will focus on the languages that millions of developers worldwide already know and love.
Exploring Web3 can be quite daunting, but there's a simplicity at its core that we find exciting. Here's
@anuragarjun
's take on what's covered in our session about rollups with
@0xStackr
. Curious for more? 🎬
1️⃣ Build with Ease 😌
Our powerful developer tooling enables devs to easily launch web3 apps from scratch or progressively integrate onchain components into their existing web2 stacks to achieve "halfway-house" or sufficient level of decentralization.
4/ the THIRD Stackr hacker finalist team built "hIVM: Hybrid Intent Virtual Machine"
Custom DSL built specifically for creating and solving intents
@AmanRaj1608
@ankurdubey521
Stackr is a comprehensive and modular framework that enables developers to seamlessly build micro-rollups using general-purpose programming languages.
Our mission is to empower every developer to build scalable web3 apps.
2️⃣ Build Whatever, Using Whatever ⚙️
With Stackr SDK devs can build any web3 app they want using whatever tooling they are comfortable with: Javascript, Go, Python, Rust, C# and more!
We call this the “web2 way of building web3 applications.”
3️⃣ Micro-rollups (MRUs) 🔬
Our approach is to break down the traditional rollup architecture into composable micro-rollups.
They function as isolated state machines that execute the 'app logic' directly, eliminating the need to encapsulate the execution environment within a VM.
Hey folks, due to the current circumstances we would be postponing this event to a later time in the week.
We regret any inconvenience, really wanted to make it happen today 😞

In between coprocessor and rollups is the class of transitory rollups: micro-rollups (
@0xStackr
) or flash-rollups (
@alt_layer
), which hold state for a small amount of time, and then the state is dissolved. This pattern obviates the state growth and archival DA problems.

We promise to be back with another iteration of the hackerhouse and also to keep developer feedback first before launching any new version!!
Frames are quite possibly one of the most interesting applications of micro-rollups.
The current problem with them is the dependency on a backend servers which are centralized.
Micro-rollups are indistinguishable from backend services but adds a layer of verifiabilty
