Why? For the exact reasons @base is a rollup:.1. Running a validator set sucks.2. Interop between L1s sucks.3. No part of running a chain is "core business" for these players.4. With a rollup, they basically just deploy a server. Every cycle we rediscover why L2s are inevitable.

I don't buy the "institutions will build alt-L1s bc they don't want to be dependent on Ethereum" thesis. It'll eventually be like saying "institutions don't want to be dependent on the internet". My bet: . Within 2y they will pivot to being rollups.
