Notably this isn't that different process/adoption-wise from the current meta, there's still some node operator somewhere that needs to upgrade their node by X and if they don't then they get forked out. Same thing in both cases, just lets you do rolling upgrades on a feature by.

Why should Ethereum upgrades happen in big bundled 'hardforks' where node operators are forced to upgrade their nodes by a date?. Why shouldn't nodes gate new features & only activate them after X% of stake signals activaton?. Would allow us to move much faster.
