Reopening Alcatraz is dumb as hell actually. What we need is to demolish Alcatraz and build THE STATUE OF JUSTICE!!

What a blast going down the memory lane with @yoyo_thomas on @KPGrit with @Joubinmir and reminiscing about the early days and the journey of @loom. It took a lot of Grit from @yoyo_thomas@vhmth, and @_shahedk and the team in the early days. Some of the stories we rehash are the

Sat down w/ @ilyaf to talk through the story of Loom, who's known us since early 2017 (~8mo post initial launch) and our first external board member. @Joubinmir is an excellent interviewer asking the real questions about what it's like to go through an acquisition process 🙏🏼

🚀 After over a year of what I’m now told was Founder Mode 😵‍💫, I’m pumped to announce that my project, Inku, is LIVE on Kickstarter! 🎉 Inku is an ePaper desktop calendar designed to do three things: be useful, be smart and be joyful 😁 - that's it. Here’s how it works👇

If your only avenue is a press release or an earnings call, I've got news for you: you're living in the past. Get in front of a camera. Talk like a human. That's the future of executive comms.

More public companies are going direct, with Shopify leading the way Harley’s unvarnished style and allergy to corporate jargon is a huge asset here

Beautiful basketball or soccer is more passes, more participation from the team, more "movement". Meetings should be the same way. More unique participants, more exchange, more "friction" to improve ideas.

Bonus points: 1) Frame p0, p1, p2 through Do/Try/Consider framework. 2) Meeting Driver is *not* the Note Taker. 3) If questions come in early enough, and can answer async in advance, more time for harder, more x-functional problems.

^ That's the core. • Meeting Drivers love it because they know how to effectively drive the conversation. • Attendees love it because much higher likelihood of their active participation and quality discussion vs sitting idly.

The way Loom runs meetings by default: 1) Content + loom sent ~24hrs in advance of meeting. 2) Attendees document p0, p1, p2 questions *in advance*. 3) Meeting jumps right into questions by priority order. No preamble repeating content.

It doesn't need to be this way. Meetings are significantly better, dare I say enjoyable, when used as close to 100% for discussion (ie collective creativity) versus current default for many 90% of time one-way communication, 10% squeezed discussion.

Congratulations to @mcannonbrookes, who just received government approval to build the world's largest renewable and storage project. Sun Cable is a preposterously large (24GW+) solar and wind farm plus an improbably long electricity cord. https://t.co/gveXctXh6V
